  • Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures within established guidelines.

  • Collects (phlebotomy), processes and evaluates the acceptability of specimens. Approves acceptability of alternative specimens.

  • Ensures corrective actions are taken and documented. Maintains communications with staff and Technical Consultant.

  • Coordinates problem resolution.

  • Demonstrates a high level of theoretical knowledge in the department as a whole, and serves as a technical expert to provide advice, training, and direction to less experienced personnel.

  • Coordinates and reviews QC program for work area.

  • Coordinates and reviews proficiency testing and documentation of corrective action in conjunction with Technical Consultant. In collaboration with Technical Consultant, accountable for preparation and direct communication with on-site inspectors.

  • Performs additional duties/responsibilities within the department (work area, equipment, safety, committees, etc.).

  • Provides daily on-site work direction for the department, ensuring effective and timely test performance, result reporting, and resolution of problems.

  • Participates in peer review process and hiring/interviewing decisions. Identifies technical deficiencies regarding staff performance and communicates to Manager.

  • Additional duties/responsibilities, as assigned.

4 year degree in medical technology or related science, completion of clinical internship, certification as CLS/MT + 2 years experience

Location Woodbury, MN General Summary The Algorithm Scientist position's primary responsibility is to work as a part of a team to implement new and novel algorithms for using in a new category of medical device monitoring system. The objective is to work with team members to design, and characterize the performance of the algorithms, as well as, document it's specifications and communicate those specifications to the team's engineers for implementation in the monitoring system. Essential Job Responsibilities * Develop new and novel algorithms and data analysis features for our monitoring system. Test and characterize the algorithms efficiency and specificity for given data sets. * Create and maintain design specifications and documentation, to be communicated to team engineers, as well as, work with engineers on implementation of the algorithm to develop a production ready real-time embedded system. * Develop, Test and characterize algorithms. Making decisions regarding the tradeoff between speed/efficiency, and accuracy/precision of the algorithms. * Develop and maintain effective testing requirements, that cover general use cases of the system. Use proprietary intellectual property and leverage existing technology's in new and interesting ways to develop new system features. * Work with team to define, and work toward actionable goal to release new feature to the field. * Create and maintain documentation on the design and implementation of developed research prototype codes, to be used by the team engineers for implementation into real-time embedded algorithms.
