Johnson & Johnson Medtech is recruiting for a Lead Medical Device Cybersecurity Engineer, Primary Location: Raritan, NJ; Santa Clara, CA; or Cincinnati, OH. Will consider remote work with up to 25% domestic travel
The Lead Medical Device Cybersecurity Engineer is part of a team of dedicated software engineers who are trying to tackle some of the most difficult problems in medical devices and medicine today. Medical devices have a specialized set of needs for reliability and patient safety in which cybersecurity and quality procedures play a key role, a role that is magnified even further with surgical robotics and digital solutions. This role provides technical security engineering requirements and direction, and develops and reviews regulatory and quality documentation to the hardware and software development teams that are implementing cybersecurity within medical devices and digital solutions while adhering to local and global regulatory standards. The Johnson & Johnson robotic surgery team uses robotics and digital tools for surgical teams to increase the performance, accuracy, and safety of surgical procedures. The Johnson & Johnson robotic surgery team builds an extensible operating room ecosystem to support J&J surgical products. The vision is to build a process of continuous improvement through analysis of intra-operative and post-operative surgical data. The Lead Medical Device Cybersecurity Engineer is flexible, self-motivated, curious, and willing to help the Johnson & Johnson robotic surgery team revolutionize the world of medical robotics and digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with software and hardware engineers, clinical engineers, quality professionals, systems engineers, and product owners to build and secure foundational components of our medical device and digital solutions portfolio
Work with Robotics, IoT, software and hardware engineering professionals locally and throughout Johnson & Johnson MedTech on implementing cybersecurity requirements into medical devices and digital solutions
Work with Test Engineers to devise testing strategies and scenarios on which to build test cases to test security controls
Responsible for execution and oversight of penetration testing, vulnerability scans and other recurring cybersecurity assurance testing
Write design descriptions and architectural documentation in compliance with regulations and the Quality Management System
Work with Product Development specialists to develop and review product requirements and designs
Collaborate on automation toolchains and our continuous integration pipeline on security scanning using a variety of leading industry tools
Complete cybersecurity questionnaires, and other cybersecurity documentation to support the commercialization of medical devices and digital solutions to hospitals and institutions
