You Will Be Responsible For:
Effectively leads the work of Medical Assistants and other staff, as required. Serves as an effective mentor and educational resource to staff. Serves as an additional resource, when needed, in regard to billing or coding issues at the practice.
Schedules and assigns Medical Assistants to ensure workflow is maintained and daily tasks are completed.
Participates in interviewing applicants and provides appropriate feedback to hiring manager, as needed. Provides valuable information to supervisors for employee performance evaluations, as needed.
Organizes and ensures the inventory of medical supplies is maintained.
Is responsible for maintaining OSHA regulatory enforcement and other office compliance, as needed.
Maintains current, valid CPR certification and MA certification/registration as per policy.
What You Will Need:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant program.
1-year medical office experience required.
Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations.
Must be willing to float to other AHMG practices, within reason, when patient load, vacation schedules etc. make it necessary.
Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
The Lead Medical Assistant, under general supervision, is responsible for providing hands-on clinical care to patients within the scope of the Medical Practice Act, as well as directing and guiding back office staff in monitoring and expediting workflow. This position helps in ensuring the back-office operations of the office function smoothly and that the proper protocols are in place. Assists in patient education and assists providers during treatment and examination of patients.
Our team continuously works with the quality team and practice coaches to implement and maintain NCQA/PCMH standards.
Participates in educational sessions to improve skills as appropriate
Participates in the collection of quality data
Assists clinical staff providers with providing patients with outside resources and materials
Assists in identifying and documenting cultural and linguistic needs of patients
Assists in identifying and documenting advanced directives
Assists clinical staff and providers with obtaining ER and Hospital information
Assists in arranging follow up appointments as indicated by clinical staff and providers
