Role Summary Role: Lead Mechanical Engineer

  • Hydraulic and Fluids System Location : Fremont, CA. We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic startup in disrupting mobility and living space.

    With a strong track record of developing and shipping products in the consumer or vehicle industries, the ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of vehicle systems and design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. This individual will develop and coordinate the hydraulic and fluids system and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, to design, develop, and refine the Company products that exceed customer expectations. Hydraulic and fluids systems include components and specific devices that store and transport the fluids within the Pebble vehicles while providing supply for the bathroom and kitchen effects and components, as well as HVAC and cooling lines: tanks, coolants, refrigerants, hydraulics, fresh water, drainage, etc.

    Responsibilities: Develop and lead the hydraulic and fluids system for Pebble vehicles. Develop and execute innovative vehicle design concepts, from initial concept to production implementation, using strong knowledge and understanding of engineering and hydrodynamics principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure that designs meet performance, safety, compliance and quality standards while aligning with project timelines and budget constraints.

    Leverage fluid calculation and analysis, including Computer Assisted Engineering (CAE) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to optimize and validate the system design and engineering, ensuring it meets the functional and performance requirements. Develop, create and manage the design and engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, diagrams, schematics, routings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM), ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available for the project team. Continuously research and stay informed on emerging trends, technologies, and materials in the vehicles industry, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation within the company's product portfolio.

    Lead design reviews, providing constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement to ensure a high level of product quality and functionality. Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to address technical issues and ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. Qualifications: Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle/Automotive Engineering, or a related field.

    Vehicle industry knowledge and experience is a plus. 5-10 years of experience in automotive, trucks, or busses, or recreational vehicle fields, with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful products. Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks) and design analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD). Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, thermal processes, materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards related to vehicle design and development. Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and quality.

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and present technical information to various audiences. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, startup environment. Self-starter, versatile, hands-on and accomplishments driven.
