This position will be a Lead role on the second shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor in-bound product for expedited stock and ensure to expedite accordingly.
Assist Shipping Supervisor in ensuring all products get done
Assist Shipping Supervisor in leading the team
Monitor all unreleased deliveries to assist in resolution, so product can be shipped.
Monitor all rush/must ship orders and ensure shipping guidelines are met.
Assist with required stock verification needed prior to a delivery being created.
Identify and communicate any picks that are not completed timely to Shipping Supervisors.
Assist employees in following outbound shipping requirements for customers and eliminate any delays.
Communicate crating/special packaging needs by order/item and ensure proper guidelines are followed.
Monitor all deliveries to insure timely shipping.
Insure tracking is entered for all shipments.
Log all expedited deliveries and communicate tracking or issues to corporate office.
Assist Shipping Supervisor in distributing picking assignments to maximize efficiencies.
Investigate root cause and corrective actions for any customer service failures involving timeliness of shipments.
Utilize MS Office, Outlook, Excel, SAP and other programs as necessary
Be flexible and work necessary overtime as prescribed or needed.
Effectively take on other duties as assigned/necessary.
What We Are Looking For
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
Ability to function in an office/shop environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures for supervised work group(s). Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action. Typically up to 3 years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.
DIRECTION OF OTHERS:
Typically supervises hourly employees, typically in a manufacturing or production environment.
