The Lead Hand Material Handler is responsible for a variety of duties, including: loading, unloading and moving products and materials to the designated locations in the warehouse, and assisting in picking and placing materials orders. The Lead Hand Material Handler is also accountable for checking received orders and confirming that all inventory transactions are completed and documented. The Lead Hand Material Handler will lead by example and will be expected to be experienced with a forklift and a pallet truck.

  • Oversee, train, coach and motivate team members

  • Report and assist in resolving any accidents or unsafe conditions

  • Proactively monitor and supervise inbound/ outbound material

  • Creates daily tracking forms and ensures they are completed on a timely basis and balanced accurately

  • Ensure Occupational Health & Safety policies are followed at all times throughout the warehouse and the rest of the facility

Responsible for routine warehouse product organization and material handling in regards to product, shipping, receiving and delivery duties. Unload finished goods from containers and pick orders while maintaining an organized yard and warehouse. As well as supports the warehouse areas by shipping/receiving products, loading and unloading product as well as operates a company truck as a backup driver who delivers product to our customers. Assists in other areas of the warehouse and division as needed.

  • Job requires walking 50% of the time.

  • 1st shift (hours TBD). Mandatory overtime to complete daily work if necessary. Possible weekend work needed.

  • Experience with scanners, forklifts, working in teams and following safety protocol.

  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Requirements

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive daily orders pick list, pull order and load quartz slabs on truck for delivery.

  • Unload/load containers in a timely and safe manner.

  • Operate forklift as needed.

  • Assist customers in a friendly manner.

  • Maintain and organize warehouse/yard.

  • Familiar with a variety of industry concepts, practices and procedures.

  • Assist with product order filling as needed.

  • Follow all safety rules.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to think independently.

  • Ability to work with technical and industry personnel.

  • Knowledge of warehouse/shipping and receiving functions.

  • Ability to safely drive forklift.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • Must have a clear driving record.

  • Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience, and 2 years similar warehouse experience.

  • Technical training or equivalent experience (minimum 2 years of relevant work experience).

  • Excellent multi-tasking, organization and documentation skills.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Demonstrated competency in the use of hand tools and other industry related equipment.

  • Demonstrated ability to read drawings and work to written procedures.

  • Must be able to operate a forklift. Forklift certification preferred.

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This position may require extended work hours.

  • This position may require work in hot and cold temperatures and exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, and working in close to proximity to other teammates.

  • Successful candidates must have the ability to obtain a forklift certification.

A warehouse and distribution center environment. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
