Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Pay: Competitive pay based on education and/or experience plus shift differential and holiday pay and and $500 bonus after 6 months and $1,000 bonus after 1 year!

Days: Tuesday through Friday

Hours: 8:00pm to 6:30am (NIGHTS)

Position:

To successfully manufacture blood and blood components within the standards set by the supervisor. To perform special procedures and communicate with the doctors regarding the special procedures needed for patient care. To trouble shoot/investigate problems as required. To specialize in other areas of the lab to help as needed. To Coordinate and delegate work assignments and staff to ensure hospital blood product demand is met and blood components are prepared. Maintain communication with other departments as appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in science preferred

  • 2 yrs experience in blood component manufacturing

  • Good communication skills and professional demeanor

  • Problem solving ability

  • Ability to work well with people

  • Computer skills required

  • Some moderate lifting

  • Advanced and applicable knowledge of component manufacturing

  • CTIII for minimum of 6 months.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture blood and blood components.

  • Prepare blood and blood components for labeling.

  • Label blood and blood components.

  • Triage whole blood according to inventory needs.

  • Manufacture apheresis red blood cells.

  • Perform maintenance on equipment as appropriate.

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the manufacturing lab.

  • BPS and Reference lab orders.

  • Take SOPs as needed.

  • Perform quality control of blood products according to QC lab needs.

  • Manufacture Apheresis plasma.

  • Perform special procedures such as freezing of rare units, RBC wash, PLAP wash, deglyce of frozen rare units, reconstitutions, and changing of hematocrit.

  • Communicate with the Doctors and or the PA regarding special procedures needed for patient care.

  • Assist in the training of new staff.

  • Investigate issues and events related to component manufacturing.

  • Specialize in other areas of technical operations such as Cryo, Quarantine/Dispo, PLAP Manufacturing, Plasma Ops, and QC Lab.

  • Supervise job performance and workload for staff.

  • Aid management with verification of SOPs, WI, and Validation Plans as required.

  • Communicate to all shifts the status of testing, equipment, and special circumstances or situations.

  • Ensure manufacturing supplies are available, inspected, and validated in accordance with cGMP requirements. Ensure minimum stock levels of supplies and labels are maintained.

  • Maintain communication with other departments such as medical, testing lab, reference lab, BPS, research and development and Stem Cell as appropriate.

  • Perform timely, daily, weekly, and monthly reviews of manufacturing documents.

  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and report equipment issues to CM Supervisor or Manager.

  • Approving authority on process and personnel changes/issues on designated shift.

  • Communicate all issues clearly with the lab supervisor in a timely manner.
