Job purpose

PHINIA is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer at our Aftermarket Remanufacturing Plant in Troy, MI.

This person will primarily be responsible for leading our manufacturing team and engineering activities at the plant and work to develop test strategies and improvement activities for current and future products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers to deliver new or improve existing manufacturing processes for remanufacturing / re-processing fuel system products and/or components of commercial vehicles.
  • Lead capital expenditure projects from concept through to implementation, leveraging lean principles, new technologies, and external suppliers to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for developing and/or reverse engineering remanufacturing methodologies from sister plans and competitor components/products.
  • Develop & maintain the engineering documentation for all the responsible areas.
  • Mentor manufacturing engineers on respective projects and troubleshoot existing production equipment.
  • Continuously analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality through statistical data analysis & reporting skills.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing engineering
  • 5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related field, with a significant portion of that time in a leadership or senior engineering role
  • 4+ years of experience in design and/or manufacturing of Electronics or Electro-mechanical devices
  • 4+ years of experience with the use of laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Multimeters and Function Generators, Soldering Equipment
  • 4+ years of experience with Data Acquisition Systems and Vision systems
  • 2+ years of experience with LabVIEW, C++, or VB (optional)
  • Hands-on experience with production processes, including automation, assembly, end of line testing and material handling with electrical/electro -mechanical components

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Remanufacturing Experience
  • Automotive Manufacturing Engineering background
  • Ability to handle pressure
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Ability to Delegate
