Lead Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer advances the division's manufacturing capabilities by developing new processes and systems and by providing technical leadership to all areas of operations.

Responsibilities

• Propose, justify, and manage large scale improvement projects with a significant business impact involving processes, products and equipment enhancements.

• Support Lean initiatives through robust engineering and leadership on goals such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, helping to implement the changes, and measuring the results.

• Drive preventative maintenance process improvements and system development.

• Manage budgets and equipment purchase and installation for large scale and/or high impact projects.

• Supervise and track deliverables for the technician support tasks working cross functionally with other departments and internal or external stakeholders.

• Supervise technician's group to optimize performance and develop or improve skills.

• Review outputs of technicians including but not limited to engineering change request and technical reports.

• Execute safety, ergonomics and production risk assessments as required for business goals.

• Lead and coach others in the use of advanced Six Sigma tools to improve the quality of process outputs by identifying and removing the causes of defects (errors) and minimize process variability

• Plan the use of resources and scheduling activities to meet business objectives

• Develops in-depth knowledge and skills to build knowledge within the organization, process, and customers.

• Prepares written and graphical work instructions to communicate manufacturing requirements and the required tooling to production personnel.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or science technical discipline.

• Five or more years of related experience.

• Demonstrated knowledge in advanced problem-solving methods and determining root cause through understanding and use of lean and six sigma tools.

• Strong background in ISO requirements.

• Strong background in equipment design, requirements for equipment maintenance and maintenance procedure development.
