  • Provide guidance, leadership, and grasp of technical knowledge to the hourly departmental personnel. Provide support to the Department Supervisor when needed.

  • Knowledge of metal manufacturing equipment such as turret presses, brakes, shears.

  • Receive work assignments through oral and/or written instructions from supervisor or appropriate source.

  • Direct manufacturing and/or service functions in assigned areas, while meeting required production schedules while helping to promoting quality, teamwork, lean manufacturing, sound environmental practices, and safety.

  • Help the Supervisor to provide assistance, training, and retraining to new and/or reassigned employees.

  • Maintain/oversee work area maintenance and cleaning to assure compliance with 5S/lean manufacturing system.

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs on electrical controls, machine tools and plant equipment where knowledge of electrical and electronic theory is required.

  • metal manufacturing equipment such as turret presses, brakes, shears.

  • Experience using computer-based reactionary/ preventive /predictive maintenance software systems.

  • Knowledge and troubleshooting of PLC (programmable logic controller), pneumatic operated systems, Single phase, three phase motors, band saws, and hoists a plus.

  • Experience with HVAC equipment a plus.Experience and troubleshooting with welding equipment and operations.

  • Set-up the calibration schedule of the main equipment.

  • Operate electrical test equipment such as voltmeter, amp-meter, and ohmmeter.

  • Guarantee production support systems such as power and water supply are in good working condition.

  • Maintain plant HVAC system; i.e. filters, coil cleaning.

  • Experience with facility items including, but not limited to building structure, roof, plumbing and electrical, gas services, facility vehicles like carts and fork trucks.

  • Perform any work of equal or lower grades, as requested, to support the operations of the facility.

  • Participate in required training and completion of project work by the assigned due date.

  • Maintain work areas in a clean and organized manner. Observe all quality, safety, hygiene, and environmental rules and regulations.

  • High School or equivalent required. AS degree or advanced technical training/certifications preferred - with concentration in electrical.

  • Five years or more of experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Excellent knowledge of maintenance and operation principles, policies, practices and strategies.

  • PC experience required with basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints and drawings.

  • Must have strong skills in:

  • automation control

  • hydraulic systems

  • pneumatics

  • Must have a strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Must be able to conduct problem-solving analysis and seek resolution to problems in a timely manner, sensitive to production needs

  • Must be able to set-up and maintain a schedule for maintenance of equipment.

  • Must be able to manage and monitor projects to ensure completion as scheduled.

  • Must be a goal-oriented team player.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to work overtime as required (weekends, off-shifts, holidays, etc.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
