Safely sets-up the shift to include assisting supervisor in matching of machine operators with production.
Ensure changeovers, film, boxes, and other materials are correct and in accordance with product ran.
Lead, coordinate and direct the actions of machine operators.
Maintain productions efficiencies including scrap and regrind, ensures personnel are at workstations, scheduled machines are running and production needs are being met.
Work with quality control as needed.
Coordinate new employee orientation and training.
Make sure production machinery is operating according to established production target cycles per minute/yields and inspect finished product for quality.
Set-up, start, adjust process variables, diagnose, troubleshoot, and properly shut down process equipment in accordance with published production schedules and product specifications.
Assist Inspector/Packers and Material Handler personnel.
Check schedules for job runs and ensure proper materials are run.
Maintain logs of production, problems and cycle times.
Coordinate with Inspector/Packers on any special runs or quality issues.
Perform minor maintenance functions on the production equipment and/or notify maintenance personnel to ensure that the process machinery can meet production levels.
Notify production supervisor and/or production manager of significant deviations from normal operating conditions.
Perform other duties within the employees training and skills as directed by the Supervisor and/or Manager.
Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
One (1) year of machine operator experience
Three (3) months of PIT (Powered Industrial Truck)
Ability to work overtime as needed
Ability to work weekends as needed
One (1) year of production environment experience, preferred
One (1) year of electrical experience preferred
One (1) year of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) preferred
SAP experience, preferred
