Compensation
Hourly base pay rate is $21.06 - $31.63/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.
Job Description
This position assists in leading and administration duties of the lot operations function, including the daily activities of the lot personnel for the auction and ensures the efficient, orderly and proper staging and moving of vehicles on the lot and through the sales lanes.
Ensure schedule for vehicle movement is created for efficient movement throughout the lot.
Work with supervisor/manager to review work volumes, plan and continuously monitor staffing levels to ensure efficiency, quality work product, and effective customer service; review departmental performance against key performance indicators and metrics and develop and execute strategies for improvement.
Assist in the directing the work of lot operations employees by determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, expediting the workflow, assigning duties and monitoring work for accuracy and conformance to policies and procedures.
Provide quality service and interact with customers to resolve any problems that may occur.
Ensure lot operations equipment is functional and in good working condition.
Monitor lot damage, and meet with Operations Manager on a regular basis to proactively address potential lot operations problems.
Work across departments to schedule and prepare vehicles for sale, ensure accurate and efficient vehicle check in and proper sequence of vehicles.
Develop lot operations staff, their professional and technical knowledge by orienting, coaching, training employees and by providing educational opportunities.
Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Work in cooperation with safety leadership in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
Effectively leads the team at the location by setting an example in behavior, championing Cox/Manheim values and ensuring that all employees are treated with respect.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
OR the right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; OR 5 years' experience in a related field
Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
Knowledge of lot operations/lot layout required.
Preferred
6 months auction or driving experience preferred.
Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
Must be able to pass physical examination to obtain medical card for driver's license, if driving vehicle that requires CDL license.
Basic mechanical knowledge (i.e., changing flat tires, checking fluids, jump starting vehicles.)
Knowledge of local roadways, hotels, airports and restaurants preferred.
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.
