GENERAL NOTE:

The person(s) hired in this position will perform and oversee a variety of warehouse and logistics related duties. This position will provide leadership and training to warehouse workers as assigned.

The duties include but are not limited to:

  • This is a working lead position that assists in scheduling and performing warehouse and logistics related duties and perform day-to-day work in the warehouse. Provides supervision and leadership to warehouse workers.

  • Issues and receives supplies and stocks bins. Picks up and delivers supplies throughout the school system.

  • Assists in annual inventory and handles computer related work. Records, issues, and receipts appropriate product number via computer and fixed assets. Inputs data and retrieves various daily, weekly, and monthly computer reports. Responsible for Auction items photographs, records asset numbers, posts on website, and dispenses of items when they have been awarded. Responsible for furniture sent to the Warehouse and for distributing to the designated area. Receives deliveries from various carriers i.e. UPS and FedEx. Assists in moving, relocating, and clearing out buildings slated for construction and/or relocations.

  • Inspects and reports work performed by warehouse workers.

  • Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.

  • Keeps assigned areas in an orderly condition. Reports damage to inventory, structures and equipment that requires repairs to the proper department.

  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Supervisors, Lead positions, and other employees.

  • Completes work assignments without close supervision.

  • May be assigned other duties as required.

  • This position may also be required to work after hours and weekends when necessary.

  • This position may also be required to perform duties on shift work schedules.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a high school graduate or have obtained a GED equivalent.

Must have five (5) years of experience in logistics, warehousing and/or purchasing system methods.

Must have basic computer skills including but not limited to familiarity with Excel and Word.

Must be able to work with spread sheets, databases, word processing and general accounting methods.

Must have knowledge of fixed assets and be able to lift in excess of fifty pounds.

Must be able to perform work requiring physical exertion, heavy lifting, and to work continuously while standing.

Must perform tasks under adverse weather conditions.

Must possess a valid Alabama Driver's license.

Must be insurable as determined by MCPSS personnel into private and business driving records within any three-year time frame.

Salary Range: From/To Beginning pay - $33,990.00.

Additional Job Information

Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.
