The Lead Launch Electrical Coordinator role is the key person at Launch to support the plant for First-Time pass rates. This person will lead the launch electrical team and be responsible for the implementation of all electrical Bill of Operations elements.


  • Complete required training at various sites around GM and suppliers travel required

  • Lead the launch electrical team ensuring compliance to the Electrical Bill of Operations standards

  • Lead weekly leadership reviews

  • Support launch activities for a major program and travel as required

  • Participate in virtual builds/reviews for applicable Program Virtual Assessment gates

  • Host/support In-Plant Wiring Assessments

  • Support plant readiness for builds

  • Document lessons learned for process and product improvements.

  • Create actionable items from electrical failures to enable issue documentation and follow up.

  • Utilizes the plant quality reporting systems

  • Reports pass rate performance for all applicable in-plant testing systems and lead corrective action plans.

  • Conduct training of vehicle electrical systems for Team Leaders

  • Lead disconnect workshop during launch to develop a database for repair faults


  • Minimum 3 years previous experience with automotive electrical sub-systems

  • Strong interpersonal and team-building skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Self-motivated

  • Managerial courage

  • Strong Leadership skills

  • Strong analytical ability

  • Must be able to delegate and empower the team

  • Must be able to help root cause highly complex issues and work well with Product and AVG Engineers and then translate executive summaries to non-technical people

Desired Skills:

  • Prior Launch experience

  • 3 years of experience in an assembly plant

  • Thorough working knowledge of GMS and BIQ4 deliverables

  • Prior experience in Plant Operations including Production and/or Quality

  • Bachelor's / Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
