Description

In this role you will lead a pod of 4-7 developers in building cloud based data services. These services are in high demand and used internally to power business functions. The team is co located and performing well.

DUTIES

  • Design, develop, maintain, and support cloud solutions for Nike Technology capabilities.

  • Drive best practices, design patterns, and reference implementations for enterprise cloud solutions.

  • Review/merge pull requests from team members.

  • Apply DevOps expertise to develop CI/CD pipelines.

  • Perform application support and issue resolution with internal and external resources. Determine options for issue resolution and risk mitigation.

  • Liaise with software vendors to ensure that code, configuration requirements and deliverables are met.

  • Enforce architecture, governance, security, and global process standards to system changes and deployments.

  • Review other teams' integration needs and designs, approve proof-of-concept efforts and review results.

  • Enforce the Nike Technology architectural direction to ensure that a consistent technical approach is utilized within the department.

  • Review and enforce performance thresholds and standards.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor or Masters degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Applications, or closely related field (foreign equivalent accepted)

AND

Experience: 3 years' post-baccalaureate progressive experience as a Tech lead supporting more then 3 developers.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Must have 3-5 years of proven experience with

  • Java

  • AWS Services

  • Junit

  • Spring

  • REST Web services

  • Agile methodologies

Must have 1-2 years of proven experience with

  • Jira or Version One

  • Jenkins

  • Splunk/New Relic

  • Ruby/Cucumber

Nice to have skills

  • Python

  • Javascript NODE.js

This applications engineer will be based in Beaverton, Oregon and responsible for several key locations of a strategic customer in the US. Furthermore, this person will serve as a team lead for other US and internationally based application engineers supporting the same customer part. This high visibility, technical lead role, will be instrumental in driving, through close collaboration with product lines, innovative solutions that will result long term revenue growth. This person will have an opportunity to influence product line investment proprieties by understanding and clearly communicating the largest opportunities and necessary solutions needed to gain significant share at the assigned customer. Minimum Requirements: * BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent, plus 5 or more years of relevant experience. MSEE or MBA a plus * Proficient in test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes, sampling oscilloscopes, bit error rate testers, and arbitrary waveform generators in server/storage applications. * Ability to organize and run high performance demos effectively to customer engineering teams. * Ability to effectively serve as the team lead with US and international sales and apps teams supporting a strategic global customer. * Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the US and occasional international sites. * Ability to provide training to internal teams and external customers. * Ability to identify, evaluate, and recommend market opportunities consistent with product line objectives. * Strong communication and presentation skills. * Highly motivated and success driven individual with excellent time management skills. Preferred Skills: * Programming ability a plus, including Python, Visual Studio, LabView, etc. * Experience working with international teams. * Leadership qualities such as charting a course, creating followership, working with ambiguity. * Successful experience in a customer-focused environment.
