The Inventory Control Lead will assist the Inventory Control Supervisor by overseeing the daily inventory control operations for their assigned shift. This position is responsible for Inventory Control employees by ensuring that all employees are trained, adhering to company policies, following safety guidelines, and achieving departmental standards and goals. This position also performs a principal role in developing and implementing new processes and / or procedures, as well as working cross-functionally throughout the company.


  • Oversee the daily shift operation of the Inventory Control Department. Coordinate and oversee the daily cycle count process to ensure inventory accuracy within established standards and manage Inventory Control locations in all sub-inventories.

  • Assist the Inventory Control Supervisor in the coaching, training, and direction of Inventory Control employees for equipment and Inventory Control procedures and processes.

  • Customer Service orientation monitor, correct, and communicate inventory issues with assigned areas, and complete Inventory Control e-mail assignments effectively and timely

  • Foster team work, on the shift, as well as between shifts & cross functionally.

  • Ensure inventory accuracy & timely transactions.

  • Research, analyze, reconcile, and submit for approval all inventory variances within deadline compliance with accurate root cause.

  • Monitor, maintain, and update all ORACLE inventory related reports to ensure inventory accuracy at all times. (i.e. Weekly Aging Metric Reports)

  • Responsible for Material Transfer Requests to support Manufacturing Operations.

  • Responsible for Research and Reconciliation of Inventory Control locations within deadline compliance.

  • Create and revise work instructions.

  • Understanding Oracle and Electronic Batch Record transactions to aid in inventory reconciliation.

  • Conduct Inventory Process Audits and Material Exception Reviews

  • Observe and document process flows. Recommend and implement process improvements as identified during the documentation.

  • Perform Job Safety Analysis and Safety Audits.

  • Perform Cycle Count Audits in compliance with SOX narratives.

  • Assist in Audit requirements and requests.

  • Identify any procedural/process trends that negatively impact inventory accuracy and communicate accordingly so proper action can be taken.

  • Assist in special projects for Inventory Control activities, and others as required.

  • Perform daily forklift inspections to insure optimum use of material handling equipment. Document the inspection on the daily checklist and report any equipment problems to the Inventory Control Supervisor immediately.

  • Operate forklifts and order pickers in a safe and appropriate manner when required.

  • Report safety hazards, unsafe working conditions or housecleaning issues to Supervisor, Manager, security, safety committee member or any management team member.

  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area keeping a constant watch for any safety issues.

  • Perform other functions and duties as assigned or necessary.

  • May require travel to other Herbalife Distribution Center or HIM locations.



  • Demonstrated knowledge of all Inventory Control processes and procedures, Warehouse and Production SOP's and processes

  • Demonstrated leadership skills including integrity, coaching, mentoring, training, motivating.

  • Strong initiative, organizational and problem solving skills.

  • Ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal supervision

  • Read, write and understand English with good verbal and written communication skills

  • Computer Office Skills (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook E-mail)

  • Ability to work cross-functionally between the Warehouse, Production, QA, QC, Planning, and other departments as needed.


  • Two years' experience in an Inventory Control (or similar) function.

  • One year of experience and knowledge with Inventory Management Systems


  • High School diploma or GED equivalent


  • Associates Degree

  • Three years' reach truck experience with certification

  • Ability to function as an effective team member and work well in a moderately stressful environment

  • Knowledge and experience with ORACLE Inventory Management

  • Experience in an FDA regulated cGMP manufacturing environment

  • Ability to use an RF (Radio Frequency) bar code scanner.
