Carteret Community College is accepting applications for an experienced Lead Welding Instructor to oversee our Welding Program. The Lead Welding Instructor will conduct college courses for undergraduate students. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

Provide leadership, vision, planning, and supervision for the Welding department including budget and collaboration with continuing education.
Promote a safe environment conducive to learning and maintain high standards in all programs and courses, in accordance with academic policies and procedures.
Oversee and participate in recruitment, enrollment, advising, and retention development strategies, including program faculty participation in the MAPS Center.
Plan and deliver instruction according to the Faculty Workload Policy.
Provide leadership in course development, scheduling, and classroom management.
Assist faculty in establishing and executing student learning and program outcomes and assess related data for continuous improvement of student success.
Collaborate with secondary partners to facilitate student access, progression, and completion of welding pathways.
Collaborate with industry partners to ensure the program addresses service area needs, including current and future needs.
Direct the development and administration of the departmental budget, including personnel and physical resources.
Manage the orientation and evaluation of full and part-time faculty.
Serve on College committees and task forces as assigned.
Attend required campus events including graduation, professional development, & employee meetings.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
Minimum- Diploma in Welding or related field and at least 3years of industry experience.
Preferred- Associates Degree in Welding or related field, have a certified Welding Educator or Certified Welding Inspector Credential, teaching and administrative experience at the community college level, and at least 5 years of industry experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
Teaching and administrative experience leading to this level of responsibility.
Demonstration of skills in the areas of communication, organization and managing multiple priorities.
Ability to establish and maintain multiple priorities
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, community groups and others.
Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
Stick, MIG and TIG plate/pipe welding techniques, cutting processes, blueprint reading, metallurgy and fabrication

Ability to accommodate a flexible working schedule including evenings and weekends. Limited travel within the service area.
