Overview

Champion Window has openings for Patio Room Lead Installers & Installation Assistants! These positions lead and/or support the installation process of Champion built patio room walls, windows, roofs, support structures, and doors.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all decks and patio rooms are built plumb, square, and comply with Champion engineering specifications as well as regulatory code requirements

  • Review contract folder and all instructions/drawings before leaving on assignments to clarify work to be completed

  • Responsible for the installation of the job and the direction of the helper to ensure a Champion quality job is completed in a safe and timely manner

  • Interact with Champion customers in a professional manner, while maintaining the integrity of Champion's reputation

  • Ensure vehicle being driving is fully equipped with all necessary parts, products, tools, and resources necessary to complete assigned projects

  • Coordinate the procurement of glass orders and carpet

  • Assist with the unloading of delivery trucks

  • Assist Installation Manager in contributing to meeting company standards and achieving departmental goals

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Lead Installer:
  • 3-5 years prior experience in construction and skilled labor involving carpentry, roofing, window installation

  • High School diploma or GED required, associate's degree or trade school experience in construction or related field preferred

  • Experience in the use of a brake, and other hand tools such as a utility knife, hammer, deglazing tools, etc

  • Clean driving record with the ability to regularly operate and manage the maintenance of a fleet vehicle

  • Basic arithmetic abilities including using a tape measure, converting metrics to fractions, calculations percentages and angles

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Certified in lead standard

Job Requirements

  • Installation Assistant:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Prior experience in construction and skilled labor involving carpentry, roofing, windows installation, use of a brake as well as hand tools such as an utility knife, hammer, deglazing tools, etc.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with customers

  • Basic arithmetic abilities including using a tape measure

  • Detail oriented

  • Clean driving record, with the ability to regularly operate and manage the maintenance of a fleet vehicle

Includes hiring, supervising performance management, and administering progressive discipline * Administers company safety program. Includes performing safety audits when necessary and stressing the importance of safety to all employees * Plans, directs, and prioritizes elevator installations and manpower needs; utilizes project management software and other scheduling tools * Uses accounting reports and programs to review job status to identify risk and opportunity. This includes properly reporting fade issues prior to revenue * Develops and maintains strong working relationships with contractors, elevator consultants, construction firms, and architects * Reviews and signs off on all bids. Includes attending pre-bid meetings with construction sales representatives and providing technical input to calculate labor and material costs * Reviews and signs off on change orders, purchase orders, elevator turnover authorizations, accounts receivable, write-offs, credits, and other necessary approvals * Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state and local elevator industry code requirements * Maintains strong familiarity of company Standard Operating Procedures and products by attending company training classes, utilizing the SOP document library, and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods; Interfaces with corporate departments, including the factory, coordination and labor, and consults with the Regional Operations Team. * Mediates and resolves complaints and problems of external and internal customers. Includes meeting with local business agents to resolve issues involving union employees * Determines what materials need to be ordered for job completion, and coordinates and arranges for sub-contracting portions of installations * Makes weekly crew visits and day one visits to manage safety, site activities and progress of employees and customer; documenting findings * Performs other duties as may be assigned Your profile * Thorough knowledge of the elevator industry and general management methods within the elevator industry * Bachelor's degree (only to be substituted with extensive industry and management experience); or two years' experience managing on a branch departmental level; or an equivalent combination of education and experience * Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions * Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and deal with several abstract and concrete variables * Ability to travel 15% * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
