Serve as the Lead IT Specialist who manages all communication (COMM) requirements within the Brigade, performing work independently or as a Lead Team Member, in the administration, development, delivery and support of IT systems and services.
Implement and conduct formal classroom training sessions on new or changed operating systems, hardware, software, and the application of information assurance and security policies and guidelines.
Provide complex customer support services including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and training to support organizational requirements.
Provide guidance and leadership to the members of the Systems Management Team related to daily support activities, coordination of work efforts of the team members and technical guidance and oversight of system areas.

This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, within 6 months of entry onto duty.

Basic Requirement for Lead Information Technology Specialist (System Administration):
Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing and maintaining problem tracking and resolution databases; installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining customer hardware and software; and diagnosing and resolving problems in response to customer reported events. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:

(4) Problem Solving
