JOB DESCRIPTION

The HVAC Lead Technician, Facilities is responsible for reliable and consistent operation of building systems for offices, labs, clean rooms, and support areas. Work includes operations within a semi-conductor wafer fab facility, as well as performing other routine maintenance and repair projects as needed for HVAC Mechanical Units, Including Air Handlers and Chillers, ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on HVAC units, motors, pneumatics and other facilities equipment; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Primary Responsibilities

The Lead Technician, Facilities position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to include but not limited to Installing, troubleshooting, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possession of a valid California state driver's license.

  • HVAC Mechanic with strong trouble shooting skills

  • General knowledge of Pneumatic controls, thermostats and VAV Boxes

  • Service and repair of environmental-control systems associated with mechanical systems.

  • Perform other maintenance-related tasks, such as trouble-shooting and maintaining pump systems, compressed air, vacuum systems, etc.

  • Proficiency in the maintenance of large custom and cleanroom air handlers.

  • Thorough understanding of heating and ventilation systems for cleanrooms, electronics labs, and environmental lab areas.

  • Required to work in compliance with OSHA and RTX safety policies and procedures, as applicable, to ensure that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.

  • Knowledge of refrigerant management requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with MS Office Business Suite applications.

  • Experience with building automation and control programs.

  • Ability to work from manuals, blueprints, drawings, layouts, wiring diagrams, or other specifications.

  • Provide assistance to technicians/colleagues for various tasks as needed.

  • Communicates professionally, both orally and in writing, with co-workers and customers as needed to relay information they need in order to be successful.

Education and Experience:

  • This position typically requires an AS/AA degree or other 2 year post High school education, training or certification and 6 years of applicable experience in Facilities Maintenance or other industrial setting. In the absence of a degree a combination of education, applicable relevant experience and/or certifications in lieu of degree may be considered....

  • Possession of a valid California state driver's license is required .

Desired Education:

  • Trade School for HVAC
  • Certificates for HVAC

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 52,000 USD - 127,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
