Lead Highway Technician

This position is a lead role responsible for the overall maintenance of the highway project assigned.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Lead crews in performing highway maintenance activities May operate various forms of heavy highway equipment With equipment cleans and grades ditches, drainage structures, highway road shoulders, slopes Repair work includes repair of fences, sign repair, litter debris removal, and other highway maintenance activities, including emergency response Use all equipment safely Mowing, and clearing brush from roadsides Patching broken or eroded pavements and shoulders Assist in storm cleanup Qualifications EDUCATION: High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.

EXPERIENCE: 18 years of age or older. Commercial Driver's License Class A with 3 years clean MVR required. Strong leadership skills Be able to lift fifty to sixty pounds (50 - 60lbs.) Experience operating skid steer and dump truck preferred.

Highway maintenance or construction skills are preferred. Prior DOT experience a plus. Ability to obtain ATSSA certification in the installation of traffic control.

Be able to work overtime, nights and weekends. Ability to adapt to changing situations with work plans and work schedules due to workload or season display. Additional Information Benefit Highlights:
