What you will do:
1st and 4th weekend rotation
Only 2 holidays per year!
Hours are 6:30pm-7am, can vary slightly based on department need
Perform administrative work to support hospital unit operations

Job Description:
The Lead Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) works under the direction of the Clinical Manager to develop and enhance the role of the HUC. Leads the training of current and future staff on new programs, assists in the development of efficiency and quality improvement initiatives, and co-design strategic resolutions aimed at producing proficient and cost effective results. The Lead HUC performs the duties and responsibilities of the HUC on a regular basis to maintain competency. The Lead HUC maintains proficiency in the use of the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) to trouble shoot applications barriers and enhance growth and development within the Health Unit Coordinator role. Collaborates with the Clinical Manager to address and remove barriers in workflow design and applications.
Major Responsibilities:
1.Fosters collaborative relationships in and between unit staff and management in order to enhance team effectiveness.
2.Assists in the review of HUC schedules and staffing.
3.Works alongside employees, providing direction and training on specified activities.
4.Works collaboratively with management to assist in the implementation of organizational initiatives specific to the HUC role.
5.Contributes competencies for the general HUC role and partners with management to incorporate these competencies into unit specific job skills.
6.Maintains competencies as a HUC.
7.Maintains proficiency and problem solving skills in EMR applications.
8.Serves as a liaison and advisor to Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) training programs in the Gundersen Service Area.
9.Perform other job related responsibilities as requested.
Demonstrates organizational skills and effective use of time by prioritizing to complete work within established time frames in accordance with unit standards/ expectations.
Communicates effectively by providing clear and concise verbal, written and telephone communication with a strong customer service focus. Demonstrates professional accountability by adhering to the Gunderson Vision and Mission Statement and by demonstrating Gundersen Health System's core values and complying with the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules and our own confidentiality standards.
As directed by the Gundersen Health System Medical Staff Bylaws a HUC can receive and record verbal and telephone orders from the medical staff for diagnostic laboratory radiology tests, nutrition services and ambulation
