Job Description SummaryAegon Global IT Office (GITO) provides advice and direction regarding Global IT functions. The Global IT Office is comprised of 7 functions which are: Global Human Resources, Global Procurement, Global Program Management, Global Information Security, Corporate Systems, Aegon Global Technology and the Global Design Authority. These global functions provide support across Aegon and align to the business objectives. This position will reside within the Global Design Authority that provides IT design leadership/architecture support to the business units.

The Global IT Solutions Architect role provides expert hands on technical knowledge in the areas that are being investigated as part of the Global Architecture. The role holder will have a high degree of autonomy and will be expected to be capable to analyze and review independently new and existing technologies primarily but not restricted to Digital.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business and IT leaders to become fluent in technology-driven economic trends that impact Aegon's markets.

  • Highlight for business leaders how digital business initiatives have the potential to impact Aegon's operations.

  • Articulate the technical, financial, product or service, sales and marketing, and support requirements that will enable Aegon to innovate and transform business models.

  • Shape Aegon's digital business in shifting from value chains to value ecosystems.

  • Provide Digital technical leadership within the Global IT community, providing hands on knowledge of existing or developing technologies that are in line with the Global IT direction.

  • Design, maintain, and use global solution architecture patterns.

  • Maintain senior level relationships (executives, directors and their reports) and influencing skills.

  • Operating in a matrix management model, will work with Global IT Architects in the design phase of strategic programs involving numerous senior level staff.

  • Responsible for defining technical standards globally in relation to existing or new technologies and working with the country units to incorporate the local view into the standards.

  • Be responsible for the detailed solution architecture artifacts that result from the analysis of technologies.

  • Consult with project teams to fit projects to architecture. Identify when it is necessary to modify the solution architecture to accommodate project needs.

  • Promote Solution Architecture, its processes, outcomes and ongoing results, to the organization, including IT leadership team and key business stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, Information Systems or related field or equivalent training/experience.

  • Experience of technical delivery of Digital projects utilizing the latest technologies.

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience with at least 2 years' experience in Solutions Architecture

  • Working knowledge of the insurance and financial services industry.

  • Experience in developing and implementing IT solution architecture strategy.

  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical complex IT projects

  • Knowledge and experience with architecture methods, techniques and tooling.

Working Conditions

Salary Guidelines:

US

$120,000 - $159,000 - $198,000

Expected Starting Salary Range: $127,200 - $174,900

  • This position is also eligible for an incentive bonus

FLSA Status: Exempt

UK
78,000 - 97,500 - 117,000

Expected Starting Salary Range: 78,000 - 107,250

  • This position is also eligible for an incentive bonus

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Expertise with ETL Design and Coding in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence environments. 2.
