What you'll do:

Lead generation. Research and identify leads in local markets, call contacts and coordinate appointments. You will be interacting with business owners in a variety of industries such as: healthcare, retail, corporate offices, fitness centers, and many more.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Find and research businesses that would benefit from the Coverall Program

  • Perform outbound calls

  • Schedule qualified appointments for the outside sales team

  • Achieve or exceed sales metrics and revenue targets for your position

  • Manage and update a Customer Relations Management (CRM) database

  • Prepare accurate reports on a daily, weekly or monthly basis as defined by management

  • Other duties that may be assigned to meet business needs

The incumbent manages strategic relationships with biotechnology, academic and pharmaceutical customers to ensure revenue and management objectives are met and exceeded. Engagement with customers may be initiated via several pathways, depending on the needs of the Opportunity Development and Marketing departments: 1. By Geographic Territory - Develops and maintains strong customer relationships, providing consultative solutions and required support. Demonstrates an expertise in the utilization of the mouse as a platform of basic biomedical and drug discovery research and in the solutions provided by the Laboratory to solve research problems. Provides territory management that includes understanding the opportunity, strategic and tactical planning, execution, and reporting of results. 2. By Stage of Customer Engagement Process - Drives customer engagement between the Marketing and Sales stages for selected campaigns derived from traditional Marketing efforts and/or customer analytics efforts, taking Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) to Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) and potentially further on to the generation of an opportunity, then engaging the field ODM to assist with closing the opportunity. Engages with the Marketing department and/or analytics team on health of the process, quality of MQLs, and opportunities for improvement. 3. By Market Segment - Partners with the field ODM on selected accounts to drive Opportunity generation where sales may have decreased or where there is believed to be significant unrealized opportunity. Measures of success include revenue performance versus established sales targets and accepted projects (won opportunities - new and renewed). This position will be remote. Responsibilities * Maintain opportunity pipeline within the CRM with updated customer information as well as updated information on business opportunities. * Phone calls and emails with current and prospective customers to identify their needs and provide solutions with JAX Mice and Services. * Provide consultative solutions that create a collaborative relationship to address the unique needs of our customers. * Develop and execute territory plans (as applicable), qualify leads and close business. Qualifications * BS/BA required (preferable in Life or Animal Science) * 2-4 years of direct biomedical or animal science customer engagement * Ability to succeed with considerable independence, often with minimal guidance * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong consultative selling skills and proven capability to close sales. * Ability to take direction and act in the best interest of the Opportunity Development Team and The Jackson Laboratory * Ability to travel up to 25% * Performs other job-related duties as assigned About Us The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) is an independent, nonprofit biomedical research institution with more than 2,300 employees.
