We are looking for Multiple Software Engineers to join our growing Engineering team whose purpose is to build a unique Single Page Application (SPA). This development initiative is part of our Chemical Information and Analytics Platform for commercial companies to speed up Research and Development of Drugs, products to name a few.
In this role, you will be working with people across several teams which includes product owners, product managers, and SMEs in different chemistry fields to build scalable and reliable platform. You will be working on green-field projects with cutting-edge technologies and development practices. You will serve as internal champion of code quality, reusability, and extensibility.
We are one of the US largest installations utilizing AWS and use wide range of AWS hosted services like RDS, redis, EMR, Glue, ECS to name a few. You will be following agile development practice including continuous integration, continuous development and code review. At Elsevier, we use modern development services and tools such as GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, AWS, Slack, Sonar, Artifactory, Confluence, and Jira.
We are looking to work with people who care about quality, reliability, and performance. Ideally, you should have a solid professional background in software engineering, and a good feel for responsive web app. Attitudes matter too. Given the versatile nature of the role, we're looking for someone who can learn fast, enjoys working with others, and is a pragmatic collaborative decision-maker.
2-8 years of experience with large scale software development experience
Experience creating and consuming Restful Services
Experience with Java/J2EE and framework such as Spring
Experience with typescript, react or angular, bootstrap, Less/SASS
Experience with modeling database preferably with mysql
Agile engineering practices such as Continuous Integration, automated testing and deployment.
Able to define and build infrastructure with code preferably using terraform
Positive attitude and continually seeking to learn
Care about releasing software all the way to prod.
Nice to Have
Experience with cloud services preferably with AWS
Experience with big data technologies preferably spark
Experience with Search technology e.g. ElasticSearch
Experience with Docker
Experience with MicroService architecture
