Reporting to the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Lead Tech is responsible for proactive fleet tracking, assigning work and updating repairs completed via Fleetio, and Samsara the ELD/Telematics platform. Lead responsibilities include managing technician workflow, assisting technicians in completing troubleshooting/repairs, ensuring safety protocols are adhered to, the shop and associated workspaces stay clean/tidy and proactively managing equipment maintenance. The Fleet Lead Tech will be tasked with, operating various tools and machinery, and training team members on procedures and safety guidelines. Additionally, they will audit workorders, ensure proper completion of preventitive maintenance, and address DVIR issues. The  Lead Tech will maintain cleanliness and safety for the shop, maintain all shop tools and equipment, and assist with the final inspection of products to ensure quality standards are met. The Fleet Lead Tech will track inventory usage, assign issues to the team and coordinate vehicle swaps with the Operations Team while ensuring minimal service interruptions. Additionally, the Fleet Tech Lead will be a working Technician and will be expected to complete necessary repairs, work orders and other maintenance related activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·       Lead Technician is responsible for overseeing the team, ensuring the safety of their crew by providing regular training.

·       Overseeing quality and quantity of the work. They assist Technicians, and report issues/concerns immediately to the shop Forman/Manager.

·       Maintain vehicle compliance (DVIRs) and update Samsara through Fleetio to ensure all issues are resolved daily.

·       Update and audit the following for each vehicle: work orders are completed correctly; labor hours are captured via work orders.

·       Responsible for tracking, scheduling and completing reported issues, for all vehicles.

·       Maintain fleet maintenance records: review driver defect reports on a daily basis; trouble-shoot/resolve issues to reduce the number of road calls to ensure a high level of safety for our drivers & customers.

·       Track daily vehicle reports, maintenance and repair records to ensure all records are accurate and current.

·       Make appropriate arrangements to have inoperable vehicles or equipment repaired or towed

·       Support the IT Team in the management of on-board shuttle technology such as Wi-Fi devices, telematics systems and tablets to ensure the systems are functional and installed accordingly.

·       Other duties as assigned.

·       Address immediate fleet concerns and maintain fleet maintenance records: review driver defect reports on a regular basis, and trouble-shoot/resolve issues to reduce the number of road calls and ensure the appropriate level of safe operations.

·       Perform regular Fleet Tech duties as needed.

Requirements

·       High School Diploma or equivalent 

·       Minimum of five (5) years maintenance experience working with a variety of vehicles, motor coach’s, HD trucks and light trucks 

·       Minimum of two (2) years working as a supervisor/shop lead or manager in a maintenance shop

·       Current Washington State Driver’s license.

·       Must have an active US DOT Medical Card.

·       Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with a P Endorsement

·       Must be able to successfully pass a road test in a shuttle vehicle 

·       Must be able to work 4:00PM-12:30AM shift
