The Lead ETL Software Engineer will have hands-on leadership experience in data integration projects for data warehouses of large financial institutions.
This position will lead developers in implementing complex workflows and mappings using Informatica PowerCenter, WhereScape RED, and shell scripts to satisfy the business requirements.
Data warehousing and dimensional modeling experience is a must.
The position must also able to support the various existing Union Bank Data Warehouse applications, as well as contribute to architecture initiatives, platform upgrades, regression testing, and new initiatives.
Act as technical lead projects and mentor junior developers.
Perform systems design and analysis
Design, code, test, schedule, and implement ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter and Wherescape Red technologies.
Ability to optimize designs and SQL code for various RDBMS platforms (Greenplum/PostGres is a plus).
Provide technical work guidance or mentoring.
Provide input to the managers/supervisor on staff performance.
Facilitate the development of supporting knowledge architecture and standards.
Oversee the team/staff that develops methods to efficiently re-use existing components.
Prepare and present technical concepts to internal audiences.
Solve complex application and data-related problems, and be experienced in resolving issues relating to reconciliation controls and data security.
Initiate and develop concepts to solve extremely complex situations with little or no precedent.
Provide technical input to other senior and high level technical experts
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with experience preferred in the following:
7 years data warehouse development experience.
Technical team leader experience.
Advanced SQL knowledge (PostGreSQL desired).
Hands-on ETL development experience with Informatica PowerCenter on Unix/Linux platforms.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with dimensional data models (3NF+), preferably with a banking/financial services company.
Full system development life cycle experience (waterfall and/or agile).
Experience with Wherescape Red and Greenplum architecture a plus.
