Position: Lead Business Analyst - Technology Strategy Development

Job Description:

This position reports to the VP of Technology Strategy, within the office of the CTO.

As a member of the Corporate Technology team, the Analyst plays an important role in shaping the company's technology strategy, with a strong focus on supporting and shaping our R&D investment plan, analyzing our R&D portfolio, promoting internal collaboration, and supporting technology initiatives.

  • The Analyst provides market assessments and expertise in developing defensible business cases in support of our strategic initiatives. This includes providing research, analysis and recommendations on markets, trends, and disruptive technologies.

  • The Analyst will work with select IR&D teams as needed to support with the intent build organizational skills in assessing market viability of technologies and offerings

  • The Analyst will excel at conducting research, analysis and financial modeling, utilizing Microsoft-Excel, PowerPoint and commercial data sources.

  • The Analyst will be play a key role in the company's innovation and technology growth initiative including providing process support for a $300M+ annual R&D budget.

  • The Analyst maintains a keen awareness and acumen around disruptive technologies, emerging trends, innovation and competitors to leverage in creation of technology road maps.

  • The Analyst is skilled in analytical methods, producing fact-based, logical hypothesis and scenarios with well-thought-out conclusions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, including the use of Microsoft-PowerPoint to convey analysis and recommendations to stakeholders and company executives.

  • Travel up to 25% of the time

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related quantitative field and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or similar

  • Professional services / consulting experience

  • Experience in product or technology development, including front end market assessments

  • Aerospace and defense industry experience.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and see the 'big picture.'

  • Results-oriented, takes the initiative mentality.

  • Demonstrates a highly analytical work ethic/approach.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • A fast learner with the ability to take initial direction and self-manage to complete assignments on time and to expectations.

  • Highly collaborative team player.

  • Pragmatic with a strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Ability to devise logical methods/approaches.

  • Strong project management skills, including demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. * Experience crafting enterprise strategies and initiatives that support growth objectives * Experience structuring and executing independent technology development reviews and assessments * Project management experience * Experience utilizing verbal and written communication skills, including the use of Microsoft-PowerPoint to convey analysis and recommendations to stakeholders and company executives Additional Preferred Qualifications: * Master's degree in a STEM-related field; Ph.D. preferred but not required * Broad knowledge of L3 technology and capabilities within the businesses we support, and an ability to drive cultural and business shifts * Experience in gated investment processes and technology management * Experience with Intellectual Property and R&D strategic planning and implementation process * Highly collaborative team player * Strong project management skills, including a demonstrated ability to think end-to-end and manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously Harris Corporation Melbourne FL
