Summary:

In this role, you will play a crucial role in setting the strategy, technical direction and driving the adoption of our next generation data platform. You will be front and center as we work to modernize our solutions and change the way we think about and apply data in solutions across our architecture at Vizient.

Responsibilities:

  • Display a deep and wide background in Data and BI technologies spanning both solutions built on traditional (RDBMS) and non-traditional (NoSQL) platforms.

  • Work as the Technical Product Owner in partnership with our Business Product Owners and product strategy teams to define and develop the technical strategy for our data driven products and applications while communicating clearly with technical as well as non-technical audiences.

  • Develop Architectures for highly scalable and fault-tolerant applications using Cloudera/Hadoop and Relational database technologies.

  • Drive analysis and proof of concept activities with Appdev and key business users in support of advanced use cases

  • Provide technical and architectural oversight for systems and projects that are required to be reliable, massively scalable, highly available (99.999% uptime), and maintainable.

  • Introduce best practices and principles to enable consistent delivery and enable alignment with long term direction.

  • Lead and mentor other team members within IT when working in Virtual Teams and identify process improvements.

  • Define solution level architecture for project teams including guidance on development tools, target platforms, operations, and security.

  • Provide leadership to the project development teams for successful project implementation on the selected data platform.

  • Stay up to date on new tools & techniques in the data and analytics space.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience in a Data Architect, DBA, Data Engineer or BI architect role is required.

  • Experience developing architecture for applications using Cloudera/Hadoop and relational database technologies required.

  • Experience with BI Platforms like Microstrategy, Power BI, Tableau is preferred.

  • Proven experience successfully driving change and adoption of the architecture strategy preferred.

The overall objective of this role is to ensure the execution of Information Security directives and activities in alignment with Citi's data security policy.
