Responsibilities

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

NECEC project engineering performance including all phases such as: scoping and budgeting, conceptual engineering, contract management and design, engineering design, construction and closeout.

Responsible for leading and creating new conceptual designs and overseeing the work of external detailed designers.

Solve unique and complex engineering problems. Identify innovative solutions,

Oversee engineering studies to evaluate equipment and system performance and effectiveness, and analyze operational issues in support of system reliability and operational efficiency.

Develop and validate information needed for engineering analyses and applying engineering judgment to solve technical problems,

Ensure all engineering designs meet applicable company, local, state, and national codes and standards,

Represent the company on regional and national committees when needed.

Skills and Requirements

Education & Experience Required:

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent education with 5 years relevant experience required.

Professional Engineering License Preferred

Experience/Training:

Engineering/Professional qualification or equivalent experience

Experience in the delivery of projects, as necessary

Relevant network construction and operational experience

Computer literacy

Travel to construction sites

Transmission Design

Civil Engineering based

High voltage within a utilities required

VIEW JOBS 6/29/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-09-27T00:00 Responsibilities 1.Main responsible for the management of the NECEC contract obligations. Contracts include but are not limited to the TSAs, long term commitments with different stakeholders and interconnection and operation agreements with ISO-NE and Hydro Quebec TransEnergie (HQT). 2.Lead the relationship with Hydro Quebec before and after commercial operation of the NECEC program. 3.Act as the functional lead and main point of contact of the new NECEC Transmission Entity. 4.Generate and coordinate the production of a set of reports as established in the contracts or following internal requirements at AVANGRID. 5.Oversee the regulatory compliance in coordination with the Regulatory Departments, including FERC and NERC compliance, OASIS management. 6.Manage, in coordination with the Operations department, the project availability during operation, establishing processes and procedures as needed during the implementation phase. 7.Management of the Transmission services in coordination with other internal departments, including tracking and reporting of project availability, invoicing to customers, tracking of revenue credits and monitoring of events of default. 8.Oversee the O&M budget and long term maintenance strategy, in coordination with the O&M department. This effort includes monitoring compliance and performance of third party vendor agreements, management of letters of credit and other security, compliance with permitting conditions, FF1 reporting and Coordination of maintenance scheduling with HQT, ISO, TSA counterparts. 9.Coordinate, together with the Legal, Regulatory and Control teams, the establishment of transfer agreements between NECEC and CMP, ensuring their subsequent adequate implementation. 10.Ensure, supported by the Control department, an accurate project accounting ring-fencing NECEC from the rest of the AVANGRID entities. 11.Oversee the management of the project taxes, both property and income taxes, supporting the group responsible for establishing the tax estimates and tax management procedures in the implementation phase. 12.Manage a set of miscellaneous contracts and commitments established with different stakeholders, including but not limited to agreements with Maine and Massachusetts stakeholders, Hydro Quebec, etc. 13.Establish resource plans and coordinate the internal needs with the rest of the departments in the organization. Skills and Requirements Education & Experience Required: * Bachelors' Degree in Engineering, Finance or Regulatory, and a minimum of 10 years relevant experience required. Master's Degree or MBA preferred. * 10+ years of broad based experience in the Transmission & Distribution industry and Contract Management. * Experience working in Regulatory and Legal environments, preferably in management roles with budgetary and/or planning responsibilities. * Extensive management and supervisory experience in an electric utility environment. * Demonstrated experience working in a large multi-faceted utility organization with varying goals, customers and stakeholders. Skills/Abilities: * Strong leadership and organizational skills. * Proven ability to work in a complex environment with many competing priorities and stakeholder demands. * Strong business orientation and excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. * Proficient at Microsoft Office package, particularly Excel and Power Point. * Proficient at Microsoft Project and project scheduling principles. * Self-starter that can work independently and motivate internal and external resources to meet key project deliverables. Particularly interested in "can-do" attitude and a passion for commercial success. * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across multi-functional teams and with senior management.
