We are currently seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for our St. Joseph, MI location. In this role, you will perform, seamless integration of final manufactured products from Concept through Production Validation. You will deliver product leadership through balanced product solutions that delight consumers and satisfy the needs of the business and stakeholders.
Manage system integration of projects in Production Development Projects
Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans and project execution
Responsible for system level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project/product plan guardrails
Lead technical design reviews for project to provide an assessment of whether the project is within the architecture/project/product plan guardrails by working with key development team members such as Subsystem teams, Validation and Verification (V&V) Strategist, Project Leader and by consulting with key architecture development team members when necessary (e.g. System Architect, Subsystem Subject Matter Experts (SMEs, V&V Strategist)
Responsible to drive full system validation through the use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages
Responsible for driving Product Leadership through the Whirlpool Product Development process
Up to 10% travel for position
Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics
10+ years of work experience in Engineering
Proven development and execution experience
Knowledge in consumer appliances, specifically Laundry
Exceptional problem-solving approach with Operational Expenditure (OPEX) certification
Exceptional systems thinker with the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE), Automotive Service Educational Program (ASEP) or Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) Certification
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others
