Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Instrument/Electrical Designer for a short-term assignment in Lake Jackson, TX. This role is crucial for a project lasting 6-8 weeks, where you will independently perform design tasks with a high level of proficiency, adhering to industry standards and codes.

Key Responsibilities:
Establish design criteria for project phases, applying basic engineering principles, material properties, and knowledge of construction, installation, and maintenance procedures.
Provide conceptual input during the planning stages of the project.
Prepare detailed and layout drawings and sketches for complex designs, using both manual and computer-assisted drafting/design techniques.
Determine material requirements and perform necessary calculations using industry-standard formulas.
Review manufacturers' and fabricators' prints for conformance with contract specifications.
Provide guidance and design sketches to lower-level design/drafting personnel, reviewing their work for accuracy.
Support field assignments, including leading field walkdowns as needed.
Interface with other departments, clients, vendors, and project specialists to ensure project production.
Qualifications:
High school graduate with vocational/technical training in basic drafting technology or a 2-year degree in drafting/design technology.
10-12 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) for those with high school training, or 8-10 years of experience for those with a 2-year degree.
Strong understanding of design concepts, with minimal engineering input required.
Proficiency in both manual and computer-assisted design techniques for moderately difficult applications.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts, applying concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and to speak effectively before clients or employees.
