Liberty is opening several new specialized residential homes in North County San Diego. Each home will serve four adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as significant behavioral health challenges. These homes are all located in the town of Ramona 20 miles north of Santee and 20 miles east of Escondido.

To support clients of these homes, Liberty is now hiring for multiple full-time 'Lead Behavioral Support Professional' positions. These are leadership roles which will be responsible for:

Providing direct care, behavioral intervention and skill building activities and assistance to clients
Observing clients' conditions and behaviors
Assisting clients with their activities of daily living
Rapidly responding to individual client needs
Proactively addressing problems, concerns and issues
Monitoring program implementation and treatment integrity
Assisting with medication protocols
Leading, training, managing and supervising staff Behavioral Support Professionals
Working closely with the home's Director and licensed clinicians

As a Lead Behavioral Health Support Professional, you will primarily work weekdays however there is a requirement to also work at least one weekend each month. Available work schedule options are across the following three shifts:

1stshift from 7am to 3pm
2ndshift from 3pm to 11pm
3rdshift from 11pm to 7am

As a Lead Behavioral Support Professional you will be affiliated with an organization that is nationally-recognized as a leader in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities services. You will also gain valuable training and resume-building experience.

You're a good fit for this position if you have at least one year of professional experience providing direct care and behavioral support to people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities. Prior management, supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.

Registered Behavioral Technicians, Licensed Vocational Nurses, Licensed Psychiatric Technicians, Qualified Behavior Modification Professionals, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, and individuals possessing an Adult Residential Facility certificate are strongly encouraged to apply. If you don't possess one of these professional licenses or certifications, Liberty will provide you with guidance applying and testing for the Registered Behavioral Technician certification, which will be required within 60 days of employment.

Working Conditions Perform approximately 95% of all work indoors, but will be required to work outside to clean parking lots, gas pumps, take out garbage, etc. Exposure to extreme cold temperatures while performing occasional work in a walk in cooler and/or freezer. Exposure to occasional noise. Work with minimum direction and periodic supervision. Physical Functions Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours. Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes of workday (i.e., assisting in stocking/maintaining inventory levels). Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level (i.e., to replenish fountain syrups). Ability to push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e., utilizing a hand-truck). Ability to bend at waist with some twisting up to one hour of workday. Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands up to all day. (This handwork requires eye-hand coordination, and may require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs). VIEW JOBS Your Role: This is a senior level position requiring the performance of animal health surveillance and treatments, production activities, feeding and cleaning activities to maintain compliance with Corporate Animal Science and Welfare, USDA, ISO and cGMP standards and policies under general supervision. In this role you will be responsible for; providing daily feeding and demonstrate the ability to identify abnormal eating and drinking behaviors, maintaining acceptable levels of feed and order as needed. You will provide support for scheduling of cleaning and maintenance of animal housing areas. Perform cleaning duties by manual and mechanical methods as needed as well as perform animal evaluations and demonstrate the ability to identify abnormal physiological or behavior signs and report findings to supervisor This role will support the development and maintenance of an effective enrichment program. You must demonstrate ability to diagnose common animal health issues and prescribe treatments per plan and report on manual and electronic animal records, provide scheduling support and perform routine preventative care and maintenance of animals including weight checks, hoof care, identification markings and vaccinations. In order to be successful in this role will need to be able to consult with veterinary staff, determine endpoints and perform or assign euthanasia, ad hoc administration of selected prescribed medications, perform scheduled production activities including immunizations and blood collection, perform inventory of animal feed, medications and supplies. Order supplies to maintain critical levels. This role will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance and/or basic repair to feeding and watering devices in enclosures as needed. You must be able to demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and be proficient in English in order to read and follow written operating procedures utilized in the work areas as well as to communicate with external stakeholders. This role will require weekend and/or holiday rotation, once to twice a month.
