We are looking for a Lead Driver to join our Transportation Department in Seattle. Some of the essential duties of this position are:
The Lead Driver is responsible for:
Drive a delivery truck or sweeper van at least 80% of delivery days and deliver products to our customers on route.
Daily completion of team evening and early morning activities including but not limited to the following:
Pull trucks out of warehouse (if stored inside) in the morning and park in parking lot so they are ready for delivery drivers. Ensure lanes are clear for transfer trucks to quickly unload.
Receive loads of products from Seattle; ensure that all products and pallets are properly sorted and available for the route delivery drivers.
Print all appropriate Bill of Ladings .
Attach invoices as necessary and complete missing invoice log.
Assemble all driver clipboards for their delivery routes.
Document missing paperwork and or wine from the clipboards and report back to the appropriate department leads and or Managers.
Insert late orders or missing orders into the appropriate routes and add accordingly into Roadnet.
Log all returns on the Extra Cases Found Form.
Communicate frequently with Distribution Center Manager by phone and suggest ways to improve processes, procedures, transfer truck shipments and overall efficiency of daily deliveries.
Report fleet mechanical issues or needed fixes to Distribution Center Manager. Assist with leasing company (i.e. Ryder or Penske) communication and help verify that maintenance work is done in a complete and quality manner.
Ensure facility is clean and well organized. Communicate issues to Distribution Center Manager.
Prolonged sitting, driving, ability to work in severe weather conditions; both heat and cold, constant travel by automobile
Manual pallet jack, Electric pallet jack (when duly certified), hand truck
Manal dexterity, visual acuity, reaching, bending, and lifting and moving up to 50 lbs.
