What to expect

Swift is looking for a Lead DevOps Platform Engineer to spearhead the transformation of our developer experience. In this role you will work in the heart of our central DevOps Tooling Organization at Swift and play a pivotal role in crafting self-service capabilities to improve each development team's security, compliance, costs, and time-to-business value through improved developer experiences within a secure, governed framework. In this role you will:

• Design and implement advanced zero-touch deployment strategies and release processes to minimize manual intervention and deployment errors for infrastructure and software.

• Design and implement release pipelines, ensuring consistency and reliability across different environments (development, staging, production).

• Integrate automated testing, code analysis, and security scans into the pipelines.

• Collaborate with development teams to streamline code promotion and deployment workflows.

• Develop and enhance deployment automation scripts and tools.

• Define DevOps metrics dashboards

• Coordinate with Software Vendors on product roadmaps and product improvements

• Drive user adoption

• Investigate and resolve complex support requests from our developer community

• Propose and Implement case avoidance initiatives to minimize support requests from our community

• Champion solutions to complex challenges, applying your senior-level problem-solving skills to optimize DevOps practices.

Requirements:

• Proven expertise deploying, maintaining and extending Cloudbees CI or CD/RO (MUST)

• Mastery of RHEL and Openshift or generic Kubernetes platforms and container concepts (MUST).

• Advanced deployment automation using ArgoCD (MUST) and Helm (MUST) or Ansible (DESIRABLE)

• Proficiency in Git and understanding of the various Git branching models (MUST)

• Extensive technical expertise in Java or Groovy development (MUST).

• Extensive technical expertise in Python development (DESIRABLE).

• In-depth knowledge of observability tools: ELK stack (A PLUS), Kafka (A PLUS).

• Substantial experience in enterprise software development, either with Java or C++ or Python

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Virginia is MINIMUM 113,330.00 to MAXIMUM 210,470.00USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
