Lead DevOps Engineer - Linux
Exciting opportunity for a Lead DevOps Engineer / Release Manager to join an excelling start-up company building out a new digital currency platform!
In this direct-hire position, you will be responsible for introducing and coordinating scheduled releases and changes into production.
This is a hands-on role where you will manage build and release toolsets, ongoing maintenance and enhancements, and oversee the final approvals and readiness of all necessary documentation, information, and configuration for all solutions being deployed into production.
This role ensures minimum interruptive impacts and the overall integrity of the live operating environment. This is a highly collaborative role working closely with application support, development, and systems teams.

As a DevOps Engineer at TravelClick, you must be comfortable working on multiple and various systems. You must be able to demonstrate expertise and passion that sets you apart from others. To be an ideal candidate, you must understand systems and software, as well as, how to build, deploy, and configure software in a production environment. You will apply these concepts to specific and challenging problems we face as we rebuild a significant portion of our stack to support our rapid growth strategy. And you need to have fun while doing all of this! You will partner with various people to create mind blowing solutions: other TravelClick engineers, vendor partners, and product management. We are an agile shop and are constantly looking at ways to eliminate bureaucracy and optimize personal and collective performance. Responsibilities * Maintain the existing system architecture and help to build the future environment state. * Own the migration of existing and new services to Docker containers in a Kubernetes environment * Improve build and deployment processes * Design and implement automated deployment workflows * Provide feedback to help improve processes, scalability and technologies * Analyze and provide risk mitigation plans * Train team members on processes and technologies * Work alongside developers for bringing features to production * Support production applications * Support environment patching and upgrades, work with system and architecture teams to ensure low impact and 100% updated environments * Work with InfoSec Teams to make sure the current environments are secure and follow the security guidelines Basic Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field * 5+ years' experience supporting a Java/Linux stack * Knowledge of CI/CD systems, preferably Jenkins, Docker, Chef, and/or VMware * Experience with open source tools and technology * Experience working in an Agile environment * Familiar with build and deployment best practices Additional Characteristics * Inquisitive and probing in dealing with business analysts and product manager * Experience supporting a Java/Linux stack in a high volume, low-latency environment * Detail oriented, well organized, and ability to multi-task in a results-oriented business environment * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required * Ability to work in small as well as large project teams * Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, etc.) * Experience with Git (Bitbucket experience is a plus) * Experience with Spring Boot applications * Experience with load balancers (Haproxy, F5, etc.) * Knowledge of Agile project tracking tools like Rally and Jira * Strong interpersonal communication skills and problem-solving skills * Excellent presentation and meeting leader skills * Self-starter/self-motivated, capable of staying on track and pursuing solutions without supervision * Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously * Experience in the identification, assessment, and management of risks; able to manage the risks, not just the risk list * Determined to deliver outcomes and able to overcome obstacles to move forward.
