The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Lead Development Coordinator, Data & Event Management for our Albany, NY office supporting the Eastern New York Region.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Lead Development Coordinator, Event and Data Management: Supports fundraising revenue targets and growth for highly collaborative and accountable development team. Primary responsibilities include successful execution of two signature events, donor data management for major gift fundraising program, and development volunteer leadership and engagement.

Event Management Responsibilities

  • Manages implementation and production of two signature fundraising events including vendor relationships, budgets, event logistics, and volunteer committee communications.

  • Coordinates activities and formulates strategies related to event program including planning timelines, assignments of tasks, recording and tracking donor invoices, acknowledgement correspondence, mass mailings, event volunteer roles/responsibilities, and revenue goal tracking.

  • Provides leadership and guidance to assigned event chairs and committees. Directs the activities of and serves as the primary staff liaison to the volunteer committees.

  • Oversee collaboration with internal communications, digital giving, and national branding teams for event strategies, assets, media releases and photos.

  • Assesses outcomes of each event and makes recommendations for improvements.

  • Responsible for development and growth of third-party fundraising program, working with local community members and partners.

Data Management Responsibilities

  • Lead team to identify needed gift adjustments and/or gift linking requests to support accuracy of revenue and fundraiser credit per the guidelines. Analyze and provide data and reports to assist leadership in operational reviews, monitoring activity and performance, and other initiatives as directed.

  • Support gift processing to ensure accurate execution of check processing and donor intent.

  • Lead data hygiene system updates to ensure quality data by creating new accounts, requesting account merges, and making other needed updates. Support portfolio updates as defined by leadership by transferring accounts/contacts to the appropriate relationship manager, inactivating, and adding new accounts, and ensuring portfolios are reflected for each role. Monitor upcoming and past due solicitations and gifts and proactively share information to ensure data is updated appropriately.

  • Serve as the liaison to key national contacts for data systems, gift processing and research as needed. Support tracking large budgeted monthly gifts, as reflected in the revenue budget to support forecasting.

  • Lead volunteers who perform data entry and data-related projects for development team.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent required.

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

  • Management Experience: N/A

  • Skills & Abilities: Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team.

  • Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system. A current, valid driver's license with good driving record is required.

  • Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

The salary range for this position is (New York): $26 - $27.62

Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary information will be shared at the time of phone screening based upon your location and qualifications.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The work environment will consist of moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones and printers, light traffic). The employee must have the ability to work in a small cubicle and have the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
