Job Summary:

The Lead Database Adminitrator examines, validates, and tests database systems to ensure that developed products and services are scalable and reliable. This role performs advanced performance troubleshooting and configuration on the database tier. This engineer is the primary contact for the delivering performant and scalable database architectures.


  • Assists with examination, validation and testing of database systems.

  • Analyzes database performance to meet the needs of the business.

  • Performs advanced database configuration and deployment tasks.

  • Participates in the testing of database according to specific guidelines and protocols.

  • Analyzes data requirements for application performance/scalability.

  • Supports execution of automated testing protocols.

  • Assists in the creation of test strategy and plans for performance, high availability, monitoring of environment validation.

  • Participates in developing and executing routine scripted automated tests

  • Creates the automation test plan for a specific feature or discipline within a project, in alignment with the overall QA strategy.

  • Is able to understand and analyze automation requirements, and develop and execute automated test script to satisfy project requirements.

  • Captures and analyzes results; reports metrics.

  • Writes defect reports and performs initial triage of performance defects.

  • Works with development and environment teams to remediate bottlenecks.

  • Communicates with client organization regarding test results; may partner with engineering team to interpret client feedback into product iterations.

  • Assists with incident response and troubleshooting during outage or impairment situations.

  • Follows QA processes, standards, and best practices to test and implement.

  • Documents and assists in the resolution of routine problems.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ten or more years of experience in database performance assurance testing.

  • Advanced knowledge of database performance tuning and troubleshooting

  • Experience with:

  • Database Statistical Reporting and Analysis: AWR reporting. Identification of query optimization patterns, deadlock/contention and tuning.

  • Monyog, Percona

  • Databases MariaDB, Mongo and DynamoDB

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Log Analysis - Splunk


  • Linux

  • Oracle Developer Suite


  • Oracle,

  • Oracle SQL Developer, Oracle Enterprise Manager

  • SQL Loader

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar field or related work experience

Preferred Education

  • Master's Degree Computer Science

  • Oracle Certification SQL Expert

This role is for an experienced Database Administrator providing Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) database support at Amendola and Taranto, Italy supporting the Italian Aircraft Carrier Cavour. The max anticipated sea duty is two each three month long deployments. The Database Administrator directly supports JSF operations by assuring the integrity of data stored within the system by maintaining the internal databases and applications. The successful candidate will serve as the point of contact in customer discussions during the flight and evaluation activities and works closely with ALIS System Administrators. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Carry out and sustain system-wide backups, disaster recovery, and database support (status checks, Oracle critical patch updates) * Conduct data transfers between system (internal and external), provide user access to data, keep servers operational, configure assets to support user needs, and troubleshoot assets. * Support testing, debugging, integration and analysis of database tools * Monitor overall test progress, corrective actions, hardware/software baseline status, patch testing, and the health and status of the system This is an operational support role to an active fighter unit, so the selected candidate may be required to work at deployed CONUS/OCONUS locations, support rotating shifts, and work over 40 hours per week—which may include weekends—as dictated by mission requirements. ALISAeroPrime Basic Qualifications: Candidates must hold an active DoD Secret clearance with a security clearance investigation within 6 years from the investigation close date and be able to attain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
