Performs varied and complex duties and tasks that need independent judgment, in order to implement Oracle products and technology to meet customer needs. Applies Oracle methodology, company procedures, and leading practices. Demonstrates expertise to deliver functional and technical solutions on moderately complex customer engagements. May lead the solution design and implementation aspects of engagement(s) ensuring high quality, integrated software solutions within constraints of time and budget. May act as the team lead on projects, providing coaching, guidance and feedback to develop skills of team members. Effectively consults with management of customer organizations. Participates in business development activities. Develops and leads detailed solutions for moderately complex projects.
6-8 years of experience relevant to this position including 3-4 years consulting experience preferred. Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience preferred. Product or technical expertise relevant to practice focus. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to build rapport with team members and clients. Ability to travel as needed.

VIEW JOBS 3/22/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-20T00:00 What you'll do: A senior data base administrator (DBA) is required to support the Resource Infrastructure Capacity Planning, IO data warehouse, and Common Operating Picture (COP). We are currently automating OMB reporting and other SharePoint and spreadsheet efforts and increasing the number of data feeds to facilitate responses to data calls, request for reports, etc. The DBA will be required to normalize and populate new data into the current structure, evaluate, import and standardize new data, create new views to assist in reporting, monitor and create new import jobs, monitor performance of the databases, work with ad hoc requirements, and gather requirements from customers. The data this DBA will be working with is also input to data center consolidation planning. What you'll achieve: * First 30 days * 1 on 1 with your T-Rex supervisor * Set your annual goals and get them into Paylocity. * Accurate daily submissions into both customer and T-Rex time recording systems. * Complete Leidos Monthly Status Report on time copying your T-Rex Supervisor. * 60-90 Days * Quarterly Check-in. * 90+ Days * Work with Supervisor on any help needed with process and procedures. Database Administration support must include assurance of 24x7x365 (except for Federal holidays where support will be provided on a call back basis) availability, troubleshooting, and tuning to ensure acceptable response times. Database Administration support in the form of advice and troubleshooting is provided to a wide range of individuals including customers, end users, programmers and analysts, System and Network Administrators as well as Database Administrators. The current supported database system technologies are ORACLE 10g+, SQLSERVER 2005+, and IDMS 16+ and IDS2. What you'll bring: The Contractor and Subcontractor shall: * Install/tailor new releases of and upgrades or patches to associated database management product software. * Create and maintain database entities, including instances, databases, table spaces, and tables in support of SDE EO administered databases. * Make changes to the structure of database meta data and support any application changes. * Make recommendations of database migration path to insure optimal performance and availability, which shall be provided to COR/VA PM(s) for review and approval prior to any migration. * Review performance of databases on the open systems and mainframe platforms and provide and implement COR/VA PM(s) approved recommendations for improved performance. * Write, modify, and debug database specific SQL and PL/SQL queries. * Where appropriate, coordinate database administration duties with System and Network Administrators to ensure compatibility with hardware and operating systems configurations. * Diagnose and correct problems that occur within databases and application interfaces. * Recommend strategies for problem notification and availability reporting in database software and applications. All recommendations shall be provided to COR/VA PM(s) prior to any implementation. * Assist in developing, backup/recovery, high availability and disaster recovery strategies. All recommended strategies shall be provided to COR/VA PM(s) prior to any implementation. * Assist in developing Security strategies consistent with VA regulations and policies and industry best practices. All recommended strategies shall be provided to COR/VA PM(s) prior to any implementation. * Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action, coordinate Contractor specific technical support as necessary. * Support users, other software Contractor teams, and database administrators with problems, projects, and implementations. * Analyze database infrastructure to insure compliance with VA security standards, database performance considerations, and reverse engineering of existing database environments. * When assigned to VA initiatives, develop schedules and plans, communicate progress to management in both verbal and written formats, identify barriers, identify and evaluate alternatives. The Contractor shall participate in fault isolation for database systems.
