Overview

The Lead Data Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams using the Agile methodology and Azure Cloud to create modern software applications, implement new technologies, and deliver end-to-end solutions utilizing DevOps and engineering practices. We are looking for someone who has excellent soft skills and the ability to lead a team of developers.

Responsibilities

• Identify and implement appropriate cloud-native architecture utilizing Microsoft Azure Platform as a Service (PaaS)

• Establish DevOps and engineering practices such as defining appropriate tech stack, code reviews, branching strategy, and automated testing, etc.

• Communicate effectively with business sponsors and product owners as well as cross functional technical teams

• Understand the functional requirements of client engagements across verticals such as Healthcare, Finance, Retail, and others to build the best custom solution to meet their needs

• Maintains an understanding of long-term company strategy and ensures that designs will enable the company to meet the changing industry/competitive demands

• Provide leadership and mentoring for developers on your project teams

• Help ensure success of projects by identifying solution risks and defining mitigation strategies

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience working with enterprise data warehouses with a recent focus on modern data warehouse architecture and development

• 4+ years of experience using SSIS, Microsoft SQL, Oracle, Postgres or other data platforms

• 2+ years of that experience hands on using ADF, Azure, SQL, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Storage and Azure Functions

• Experience with Power BI Pro or Premium datasets and developing strong visualizations

• Experience providing technical leadership to a team of engineers

• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or other Agile management tools

• Experience prioritizing goals based on the larger picture, while being comfortable getting into the details as needed
