We are currently looking for an experienced and detail-oriented candidate to join our team in for one of our Financial Services Client based out of Encino, CA as Lead Data Analyst. We are looking for this position as a self-motivated contributor working closely with software development teams.

Location: Local to Greater Los Angelese (LA) area with ability to travel to Encino, CA at least 4 times a week,

Responsibilities:

  • The Lead Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing the data warehouse implementation, ensuring that data practices align with the strategic goals of wealth and asset management services.

  • Design and implement comprehensive data strategies that enhance decision-making capabilities across wealth and asset management portfolios.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of scalable data models and databases within a modern EDW.

  • Ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance with industry regulations.

  • Create high-level conceptual data models that define the essential entities and their relationships, capturing the broad scope of the organization's data landscape.

  • Translate conceptual models into logical data models that detail the structure of the data without being tied to any specific database technology. These models include attributes, keys, and the relationships between entities.

  • Implement logical data models into physical schemas optimized for the specific technologies used within the EDW, considering performance and storage requirements.

  • Utilize dimensional modeling techniques, such as star schemas and snowflake schemas, which are particularly effective for data warehousing in financial reporting and analytics.

  • Design fact tables and dimension tables to support the organization's business intelligence tools and data warehousing needs.

  • Prior experience of working on Data strategy in Wealth Management industry will be a big plus.

  • Develop and enforce data modeling standards and practices to ensure consistency and quality across the data warehouse.

  • Work with data governance teams to ensure that data handling meets compliance requirements and industry standards for data privacy and security.

  • Translate complex data findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.

  • Understand key financial concepts and processes such as portfolio management, asset allocation, risk management, and compliance.

  • Familiarity with financial instruments like stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and other investment vehicles.

  • Model data to support client reporting needs, including performance analytics, account statements, and risk assessments.

  • Develop models that facilitate personalized investment insights and client-specific strategies.

  • Integrate requirements from financial regulatory frameworks into data models to ensure compliance with local and international standards (e.g., PII and others).

  • Design models that integrate with external data sources, such as market data feeds, economic indicators, or third-party financial services, to enrich the organization's data and provide comprehensive insights.

  • Manage and mentor a team of data analysts, fostering a collaborative environment and encouraging professional growth.

  • Coordinate with IT, data engineering, and business teams to ensure that the EDW meets the evolving needs of the organization.

  • Engage with senior management and cross-functional teams to align data analytics goals with business objectives.

  • Present complex data in a manner that is accessible and actionable for non-technical stakeholders.
