Under general supervision of the Count Staff Supervisor, the Lead Count Staff will be responsible for assisting the supervisors with directing, supervising and training the Count Staff. The Count Staff Lead assist the supervisor in overseeing the Count Staff in opens and sorts the contents of the table games and gaming machine drop boxes; counts the currency and chips removed from the drop boxes; and records and accounts for the currency and chips. In addition, the Count Staff Lead must accurately follow all policy and procedures, while ensuring compliance with the Gaming Commission's Tribal Gaming Minimum Internal Controls (TICS) and the Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR), by studying the standards, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions and assist the Supervisor in assuring that all Count Staff members also follow the above requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for accurately preparing and processing high volume of gaming machine currency and tickets.
Responsible for accurately preparing and processing high volume of Table Games Chips and currency.
Responsible for accurately preparing and processing high volume Ticket Redemption Unit currency and tickets.
Safeguards company assets and prepares all necessary paperwork to support and reconcile all money and vouchers collected and counted.
Inputs soft count and other financial data into an assigned computer system; maintains all automated records; assures accuracy of input data.
Maintains records and logs related to the soft count drops, money totals, discrepancies, daily activities and assigned duties.
Operates a currency counter, computer and assigned software.
Complies with operational procedures, processes and all regulations.
Ensures that staff is in compliance with operational procedures, processes and regulations.
Assists the Count Staff Supervisors with supervising the Count Staff in the preparation of all currency processing and handling.
Confirms that all necessary forms of documentation for counts are completed for submission to; Casino Accounting, Table Games and the Cage Operations Department.
Trains new Count Staff in company and departmental procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum two (2) years of related experience and/or training with high volumes of cash required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel necessary.
Requires eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity; requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols; requires the use of a computer, coin counter, calculator, copier and telephone.
Must maintain high confidentiality.
Working knowledge of the Gaming Industry and the legal regulations governing gaming preferred.
Minimum of six (6) months experience working in a Casino Count Room with high volumes of cash or equivalent.
Previous experience leading, directing or supervising personnel is preferred.
