Your Opportunity as a Lead Coordinator, Capital Management

Location: New Orleans, LA

Reports To: Plant Engineer

Work Arrangements: 100% on-site

  • Home base - Gentilly facility

  • Travel - to and from Gentilly, Chef, Silo, and Lacombe facilities

  • Willingness to work off shift hours (nights, weekends, holidays, etc.) and flow to the work as needed

In this role you will:

  • Capital Management for NOLA Campus

  • Lead the capital team on Fiscal Year forecasting, which includes creating a timeline and templates. (e.g., List of projects, descriptions, predicated spending, business benefit and prioritize) and advise the Campus Plant Engineers to update/make decisions to meet budget.

  • Support corporate finance led monthly capital team meeting; duties include supporting agenda items, sharing spending updates, meeting notes and supplemental training to plant team members as required.

  • Facilitate issues with Project Manager, vendors and Purchasing department on final payments

  • Develop and train others on Project Charters, defining project scope, schedules, and funding packages.

  • Lead contact for the Corporate Fixed Assets audits, ensuring capital guidelines are adhered to

  • Maintain up to date monthly results on Capital Budget performance with gaps identified

  • Support plant project managers on the difference between Capital vs. Expense and work with Corporate Finance for any clarification and decisions if there are questions

  • Coordinate the efforts between Project Managers, Plant Finance and Corporate Fixed Assets on placing assets in service on time

  • Facilitate effective Capital project close outs in line with company guidelines and policies - useful life and asset categories

  • Create and maintain asset folders for tax purposes and Internal Audits.

  • Resource and Coach for plant on Asset Disposals.

  • Facilitate and develop Standard Operating Procedures for Coffee Capital Systems as required

  • Capital Budget Ownership

  • Directly manage the NOLA Campus Capital Budget to support execution of projects

  • Complete monthly forecasts to meet fiscal year budget targets

  • Prepare and submit new Capital funding requests

  • Site leader for NOLA campus equipment number assignments:

  • Create and maintain spreadsheet for campus

  • Coordinate the efforts with Project Managers and Contractors for request to ensure data is accurate

  • Build capabilities of Project Managers by coaching and training on work processes

  • Problem solving and improvement work will involve the following activities:

  • Collecting and analyzing data from project leaders, purchasing and suppliers on status of over budget / over commitment projects and implement solutions to meet budget and Finance guidelines.

  • Monitor and analyze root cause for elimination of reclasses and journals.

  • Budget Owner for Gentilly Plant Engineering Cost centers

  • Manage Plant Engineering Cost Centers 1679, 1339 and 0900 (Resource for 1705 and 1666)

  • Gather and analyze monthly cost center results and implement solutions to budget questions and issues

  • Create and maintain templates for monthly budget management

  • Prepare monthly reconciliation on natural accounts <$5K

  • Forecast fiscal year budget

  • Support Corporate Finance with plant specific clarification needs regarding monthly accruals and reclasses for key vendors

  • Build capabilities of department cost owners by training, coaching, and developing reference guides

  • Work collaboratively with Finance on work process improvements

  • Budget Owner for NOLA Campus Capital Expense Budgets (Front End Engineering, Pre-Production, Fixed Asset Depreciation, and Site Clearance)

  • Complete monthly forecast updates to meet fiscal year budget targets

  • Support Corporate Finance with plant specific clarification needs regarding fiscal year budget requests

  • Lead for Gentilly Plant Engineering evacuation head counts

  • Lead for Gentilly Plant Engineering file retention compliance

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5 years of accounting / finance experience

  • In lieu of an Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance, a high school diploma and 8 years of accounting / finance experience is required

  • Project / capital management experience

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability - to work a problem from problem statement development through root cause identification and systemic corrective action implementation

  • Demonstrated analytical skills - ability to analyze data, financial information, capital vs budget, forecast vs actuals, identify where critical information is missing to make sound decisions

  • Microsoft Office suite experience (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Project, etc.)

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

  • Accounting / finance experience in an engineering setting

  • Experience using Oracle-based systems

  • Food / beverage experience

  • Manufacturing operational experience
