Under direct supervision of manager, in preparation and presentations of foods for patients,
employees, visitors and special functions. Assists in the overall sanitation of kitchen equipment.
Ensures all kitchen production is completed in a timely manner. Coordinates with kitchen staff
daily production and kitchen and all sanitation procedures are followed by kitchen staff.
To serve meals in accordance with department standards. Complete daily responsibilities as assigned for each position which may include meal service, cold food preparation, preparation and presentations of foods for patients, employees, visitors and special functions. Assists in the overall sanitation of kitchen equipment and ensures all kitchen production is completed in a timely manner.

What your day will look like:
You will be responsible for:
1.Completes food preparation and meal service in a safe and timely manner
Food prepared according to department standards.
Completes meal service in a safe and timely manner
Meals are proportionate, accurate and garnished attractively.
Is ready to start on time.
All food is served at the proper temperature for safe food handling.
Use gloves and hairnets.
2.Maintains a clean sanitary work area as defined by departmental policy in conjunction with all regulatory agencies to ensure safe food handling practices.
Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
Maintains a high level of sanitation. Ensure safe food handling practices and kitchen clean-up. Use departmental guidelines for washing all food contact surfaces
Completes all assigned cleaning assignments in a complete, orderly and timely manner.
Work as directed to by management to maintain department productive
Use chemicals as instructed by management.
3.Prepares kitchen for following meal and assumes other special assignment work as directed to by managers
Uses FIFO method of storeroom rotation.
Dates all food as it is put away
Participates in all the training scheduled by Management and/or Human Resources
Will work with knives, slicer, other restaurant kitchen equipment, ovens, steamers, kettles.

Education/Licensure: High School Graduate (GED). Serv-Safe certified preferred.
Experience: 2 to 4 years related experience preferred
Skills:Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Frequent/strenuous physical effort (e.g. heavy lifting, sustained physical effort, extensive carrying, pushing, pulling, etc.) Minimum of two years of some formal or on-the-job training in food preparation, Cooking and principles of sanitation and safety preferred.
