The Lead Cook is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external customer. The Lead Cook is also responsible for the preparation and presentation of all food items as called for by the menu, and for assisting the Sous Chef in the efficient operation of the kitchen and of assigned personnel.

Responsibilities

Assists all stations and respective lines as necessary.Trains personnel to prepare foods according to Pinnacle Entertainment, Inc.'s standards.Ensures that items are fully stocked and equipment is in good working condition.Ensures the proper storing of any leftover foods.Ensures the proper closing down of work stations.Communicates effectively with staff.Ensures cleanliness of working area; reports all equipment for safety failures, hazardous areas and accidents.

  • This position operates in a working environment that is subject to varying levels of heat and noise.

  • At times subjected to hazards, such as wet floors, and dangers associated with the use of heavy duty cutlery, knives and choppers.

  • Ability to inspect and maintain all areas for which responsible.

  • Ability to review and comprehend all necessary documentation.

  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, choppers, slicers, mixers and grinders.

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area.

  • Ability to lift, move and push/pull up to 50 pounds throughout an 8-hour shift.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees.

  • Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates.

What are we looking for?

  • Must have own tools.

  • Knowledge of and ability to prepare stocks, soups and mother sauces.

  • Ability to prepare all varieties of meat and seafood.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through five years of progressive cooking experience, with a minimum of three years' experience in a dinner house, and/or through the completion of a Culinary Arts Degree or recognized apprenticeship and one-year dinner house cooking experience.

The Lead Cashier is responsible for ensuring the cashier team provides a fast, friendly, and accurate checkout experience for all customers. Through this important work, the Lead Cashier impacts customer service, profitability, and Academy's Purpose. Job Description: Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Work Experiences: * At least two (2) years of relevant work experience required. * Operating POS equipment, symbol and telephone preferred. * In-direct support of people and processes to drive operational excellence and expected sales targets. Skills: * Excellent customer service orientation. * Effective problem solving and communication with customers and team members. * Operate and coach others on use of POS equipment, symbol and telephone. * Reads, interprets and follows documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, plan-o-grams and procedure manuals. * Prepare routine reports and correspondence. * Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. * Working knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems. Responsibilities: * Monitors cashiers to ensure they are providing prompt, friendly customer service. * Ensures smooth and efficient operations of all register processes and procedures. * Operates cash register up to 50% of the time and exhibits knowledge of cashier procedures. * Directs zoning of Front End merchandise and monitors compliance to merchandising guidelines. * Performs closing and opening procedures, including cashier drops, cash control in tills and safe. * Monitors cashiers to ensure accurate balance all transactions run through an assigned register. * Checks change needs regularly and orders change as necessary, paying special attention to events that may impact change deliveries or needs. * Audits cashiers according to Academy policy and procedures. * Manages incoming and outgoing merchandise transfers. * Ensures POGs are stocked and maintained. * Performs price/SKU look ups. * Reads, understands and follows company policies, procedures and safety rules. * Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and rules governing professional staff behavior. * Duties may change and team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements & Attendance * Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays based on business needs. * Regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. * Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. * Must constantly lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds with another team member.
