Insight Global is sourcing for a Lead Controls Engineer to join a multinational conglomerate with presence in information technology, electronics, power systems, social infrastructure, industrial systems, and construction machinery. This position will be servicing an automotive customer, so the desired candidate will have experience in the auto manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, or product manufacturing environment. The candidate must have Rockwell Factory Talk and .NET experience. This role is capable of delivering ISA-95 Level 2 and possibly some Level 3 equipment/process supervisory control solutions, and all ancillary processes/systems, to manufacturing customers. This role spans analysis, architecture, development, deployment, and management role types. This role typically resides in the customer's maintenance and/or engineering organization. This position will be remote but will require travel to Texas as necessary, so flexibility is a must. This position will be a minimum of 6-months with opportunity to extend to a 1-year long contract. Compensation: $_70/hr. to $_85/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in manufacturing operations with a focus on operational technology systems.

  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, automation systems, SCADA, PLCs, MES, and other operational technology solutions.

  • Proven skills Rockwell ControlLogix/ CompactLogix/ MicroLogix, Ignition SCADA/ FactoryTalk View/ Viewpoint HMI, Ladder Logic.

  • Program and install PLCs including Allen-Bradley ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and MicroLogix.

  • Program and install HMIs / SCADA systems including Allen-Bradley PanelView ME / SE, Wonderware InTouch, and Wonderware ArchestrA.

  • Work with networking components such as Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, or DeviceNet.

  • Responsible for automation and controls system design, specifications, programming, simulation, testing, as well as start-up assistance.

  • Assist in developing a functional description of the automation solution such as the control scheme, alarms, HMI, reports, and others.

  • Assist in various project management / coordination tasks such as managing project schedules and budgets, developing scope of work, and providing technical leadership.

  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, test, repair, and improve sensing, measurements, and actuation devices.

  • Assist in defining the data structure layout and data flow model.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on troubleshooting and resolving issues related to manufacturing operational technology systems.

  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to manufacturing operations and recommend innovative solutions to enhance competitiveness.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate manufacturing personnel on the use and maintenance of operational technology systems. Nice to Have Skills & Experience
