JOB PURPOSE:

DEPT is looking for a proven Product Marketing Manager and North American strategy lead. In this role, you'll lead the DEPT North American strategy team, helping grow the team's vision, evangelize the service across DEPT and in the marketplace, while helping our teams execute on a wide range of projects for our fantastic clients. You'll also be an integral part of our clients team, focusing on building holistic and seamless go-to-market strategies by working closely with teams across the organization.

As an Agency, we help our clients create more meaningful connections with their customers. Your role is instrumental in developing go-to-market plans, unlocking insights, targeting the right audiences, shaping the overall position and setting the tone and message for campaigns, and helping to craft unique customer experiences.

In this role, you'll lead the DEPT North American strategy team - helping grow the team's vision, evangelize the service across DEPT and in the marketplace, while helping our teams execute on a wide range of projects for our fantastic clients. While you're instrumental in supporting and growing the strategy team, you will also be focused on taking product features and launches and building them into cohesive narratives and integrated campaigns. You'll bring a passionate growth oriented mindset to help execute campaigns in this regard - working cross-functionally to bring the right value proposition, positioning, messaging, channel strategy and growth plans to life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be across multiple accounts and channels, working closely with Creative and Account Management to:

  • Build connected go-to-market strategies and explore new opportunities,

  • Build and maintain cross-functional relationships to influence change in our clients' business.

  • Collaborate with client marketing leads to develop strategic roadmaps against outlined business objectives.

  • Develop onsite content strategy frameworks and guidelines for our clients

  • Map customers' holistic journeys to ensure we are providing consistent messaging throughout all communications, and ensure that our onsite marketing is working as hard as possible.

  • Work with our clients to outline approaches to optimize channels and CRM

  • Determine how our owned channel activity fits into the larger marketing mix to identify any gaps as well as possible enhancement opportunities.

  • Consult with clients, defining where focus and priority needs to be placed and clearly develop briefs against their goals.

  • Develop strategic positioning and create briefs for big beats/marketing moments for which creative assets will be produced.

  • Help define and drive new initiatives to deliver against the roadmap.

  • Be instrumental in developing business critical initiatives such as evaluation models, testing plans, and reporting tactics to ensure learnings are central to all work.

Day to day:

  • Lead and manage the North American Strategy team

  • Develop end-to-end creative and customer experience strategies following our Planning Methodology.

  • Work with marketing team members across content, design, and web development to plan and execute new product launch campaigns.

  • Bring a passionate growth oriented mindset to help execute campaigns in this regard - working cross-functionally to bring the right value proposition, positioning, messaging, channel strategy and growth plans to life.

  • Drive feedback/improvement loop by plugging into teams across the organization to identify what is working and what other opportunities exist.

  • Own messaging guidelines and best practices across the organization.

  • Translate product messaging into the various marketing channels, ensuring consistency

  • Bring a strategic mindset and approach to content and copy

  • Research products, services, and current strategies to identify new opportunities.

  • Critically analyze and interpret research and reporting, using this information to inform and improve strategies.

  • Ensure plans fit client goals, are optimized for multiple audiences, push to desired action, and are tested and measured effectively.

  • This is a client-facing role supporting a key account; the ideal candidate should be able to create convincing propositions, present strategy to clients and help Account and Creative teams plan, optimize, implement, test, and measure.

  • This is an omni-channel digital role covering email, web, display and social and wider customer experience design.

  • Connect with teams across the organization to share back what is working and what other opportunities exist.

SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

  • A strong leader

  • 5+ years of experience in product marketing

  • Strong understanding of product marketing principles and experience developing go-to-market plans.

  • You are focused on taking product features and launches and building them into cohesive narratives and integrated campaigns.

  • You're a great cross-functional collaborator who brings out the best in others, enabling them to do their most impactful work.

  • You have a demonstrated track record of developing go-to-market plans, helping to shape positioning, and working to bring that positioning from theoretical (in a doc) to practical (on a surface)

  • You are capable of managing interdepartmental relationships, ensuring that all stakeholders are working off the latest/updated information, that their questions are answered quickly, and that they are delivering on their plans on time and in a coordinated fashion across channels

  • You have good grounding in end-to-end, omni-channel marketing.

  • You have a confident understanding of how to turn business goals into actionable marketing and communication goals.

  • Experience of A/B and multivariate testing methodologies.

  • Experience of creating and optimizing user journeys, including automated journeys.

  • Understanding of and ability to articulate best practice in digital marketing.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Team player who understands the value of client needs.

  • long term service - additional annual leave:

  • 3+ years 5 days additional Pro rata (Total 20 days annually)
