Description: We are looking to grow our team with talented computer vision engineers who are passionate about the self-driving car industry, maps, machine learning, and big data.   • Proven working experience designing algorithms and methods for 3D object classification algorithms using point cloud and/or image data

  • Proven experience benchmarking algorithms based on speed, accuracy, and robustness

  • Proven experience implementing efficient data structures to enable faster image processing

  • Strong software development skills using C/C++.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience owning relevant projects end-to-end.

  • MS degree or more in Computer Science or related field preferred

  • Robotics experience is a plus.

We are seeking candidates for a variety of focus areas for our Computer Vision SWE roles, so experience in one or more of these areas is highly desirable:

  • Deep Learning and Object Detection: experience using Deep Learning techniques for object detection in images.

  • SLAM/Localization: experience using images and point clouds for Simultaneous Mapping and Localization and similar problems.

  • Sensor Fusion and Calibration: experience in computing sensor parameters and relationships to fuse data from multiple sensors.

  • 2D/3D data processing and analysis: experience working with large 2D and 3D data to extract entities and estimate properties.

The Hardware Engineering Compute team at Argo is responsible for developing and integrating complex, high-performance computing systems as part of our self-driving systems. Our multidisciplinary team interacts with a number of teams across Argo and our supply base. Hardware Engineers design, implement, and test the hardware which execute Argo's autonomy software, working closely with Argo's software and operations teams. What you'll do: * Participate in system architecture definition * Participate in system development, component selection, schematic design reviews, board layout reviews, signal/power integrity simulation reviews, bring-up, and debug of integrated hardware and software systems * Collaborate with cross functional teams to support the product development, bring-up, debug, and release to production * Develop functional specs, procedures, and other documentation required for integrating complex computing modules into self-driving systems * Lead and supervise manufacturing boards * Lead and supervise systems build, test, and debug * Support existing production products as required * Support EMC, functional safety, and worst case circuit analysis tasks * Interface with our partners, JDM/ODM/OEM, & suppliers * Travel to remote offices, test facilities, engineering partners, or manufacturing partners What we're looking for: * Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field * Experience in hardware development, testing complex resilient systems & boards with successful release to production. Systems in robotics, transportation, aerospace, servers, networking/communication, or similar industries * Experience in defining board circuit specification, designing PCBAs, selecting components, reviewing signal/power integrity simulations * Experience in system architecture definition is a plus * Design experience with x86 processor, storage and Ethernet products * Design experience with the automotive microcontrollers is a plus * Experience in designing, debugging, and managing high speed designs * Experience in high available resilient redundant systems development * Experience in release to production of complex products * Familiarity with schematic capture and layout tools. Familiarity with Orcad or equivalent and Allegro tools * Familiarity with standard interfaces KR, SGMII, SSD, PCIe, DDR, USB, I2C/SMBus, PMBus, SPI Bus, Optical/Copper Modules (1G-100G) * Familiarity with discrete switching/Linear regulators, and DC-DC converters * Familiarity with WCCA, DFMEA, MTBF/FIT * Familiarity with operating systems, including OS and associated tools for debugging, and testing complex systems (Linux including Ubuntu/Yocto/OpenEmbedded; QNX or similar RTOS) * Familiarity with CPLD/FPGA design is a plus * Familiarity with high-speed signal integrity simulation and measurements methodology * Good debugging skills and problem solving * Good communication skills with cross functional teams & suppliers * Self starter, positive attitude, detail oriented, organized and responsible At Argo AI, we have a strong emphasis on creating a highly effective team environment.
