Job Description:

  • To supervise race venues, train new race department team members, provide support for other race department supervisors and race department manager.

  • Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide support, including knowledge and labor, for Nastar Supervisor

  • Coordinate work and training schedules and tracking of team members weekly hours

  • Responsible for repair, maintenance, usage and inventory of all Race Dept. equipment, tools and materials

  • Responsible for keeping locker area clean & respectable

  • Manual Labor required for set-up, run and take down of daily race activities

  • Coordinate on-hill aspects of events scheduled in the Eagle Race arena venue and other race sites

  • Responsible for Race Dept. safety training and documentation to meet PCMR requirements i.e. safety meetings, safety training, venue self inspections

  • Take pride and enjoyment in delivering to race participants a quality and enjoyable experience, strive for best possible standards

  • Enjoy your work, but do so with highest regard to safety

Requirements:

  • Advanced skier

  • USSA member including alpine official and coaching categories

  • Race background and knowledge

  • Basic computer and timing equipment skills

  • Great guest service skills

  • Race dept. operates seven days a week with most weekends scheduled for events; flexible work schedule

  • Being outside and on your skis most of every day worked

  • Carrying race equipment and tools when riding lift and while skiing

Performs a variety of administrative, managerial, and leadership functions. Relied upon to represent the City on various external working groups, lead internal process and customer service improvement projects, interacts with media, and respond to critical incidents and emergencies. A primary member of the Executive Team, which includes the City Manager and City Attorney. EXAMPLES OF TYPICAL JOB DUTIES General Administration: * Managerial oversight of City policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure efficient, effective, and consistent delivery of internal public services. * Plans, organizes, and supports administrative services teams and their performance. * Prepares Executive Department budget and monitors expenditures. * Organizes professional and technical training programs for elected officials, boards and commissions, and staff. * Responsible for compliance with official public meeting management, records retention, and municipal election law. * Manages City's portfolio of real public property, infrastructure and assets, including leases and rent. * Manages social equity initiatives as directed. Risk & Emergency Management: * The City's official Risk Manager, working to implement loss prevention and support emergency management programs. * Administers annual organizational insurance placements. * Designs and directs purchasing procedures to create efficient and responsible internal contracting practices. * Acting City Manager when necessary, including officiating City Council and public meetings. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES * Demonstrated expertise in internal service delivery (finance, human resources, technology, elections), and particularly knowledgeable about complex local government policy issues, public contracting and procurement, and organizing and supporting high performance. * Maintains effective working relationships with employees and the public. * Experienced with media relations (print, radio, TV, social), including editing official correspondence. * Positive and motivated leader with experience in leading, coaching, supervising, training and evaluating employees. * Knowledge of local government. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Required: * 8 years progressive experience in a municipal administration as department head, assistant manager, or equivalent combination of management experience * Experience in municipal internal service delivery * Excellent written and oral communication skills Preferred: * Master's Degree in public administration or related field * Personnel and team-management experience * Spanish speaking skills a plus * Experience with municipal budgeting, financial and performance management, and human resources International City Management Park City UT
