Student Assistant Job Description
General Job Summary:
The Lead Community Assistant (CA) position assists in the day-to-day operations of the Laker Village Clubhouse student space and mail room. The Lead CA leads by
Demonstrating excellent personal and professional judgment
Demonstrating a positive, business-like, and courteous attitude
Ability to give undivided attention to professional responsibilities while at work
Following procedures and protocol put in place to safeguard the building, its residents, and resources
Maintain a positive attitude toward the University and University Housing
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Co-supervise student assistants in housing office
Assist with managing time of student assistants in housing office
Assist with managing manage mail and package operations
Audit and report on area vacancies or safety concerns
Making referrals to the appropriate person or on-campus offices
Conducting project online research and report findings
Delivering mail, packages, supplies to housing staff not located in the main office
Typing and/or filing records
Be available to work one week before and one week after classes end
Perform other duties as assigned
Skills Required:
Experience with Microsoft word and Excel
Good listening and communication skills
Customer service oriented
Accuracy and attention to detail
Display confidence and integrity
Must have a minimum 2.5 GPA · Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Various hours between 8AM and 5PM needed, Monday through Friday. Potential hours needed on nights and weekends.
